I'm not sure if he was kidding or not. It was on the tribune site, here's the link. Brandon Marshall: Brandon Marshall says all the right things on first day as a Chicago Bear, but wariness remains about wide receiver's past - chicagotribune.com

Thanks Chi. That's one I didn't read. Well I just posted a thread about all the encouraging things friends and teammates have to say about him and it is encouraging. I do think he's in a better place than he's been at any time since the early part of his career. He's has a QB who likes and trusts him and who probably won't be afraid to keep him on track if he wanders. The rest should come from a locker room full of guys he's be well advised not to make enemies out of.
Like I said in my other post the first step to solving a problem like his is to admit the problem exists. Without that there can be no help and no healing. He's done that and he's getting the help he needs. We can't ask anymore of him than that. So if Jay was muttering and cursing under his breath maybe he's right. Maybe it's time for all of us, press included, to just back up and give the man the room he needs to prove himself. It's not only a good thing to do but it's the right thing to do.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Yeah that's how I feel. He went through therapy last summer I believe? Might have been the summer before. Either way he realizes it's a huge problem and is taking admirable steps to fix it. It's obvious how passionate he has become about BPD and you know with his bankroll he'll be receiving the very best money can buy in terms of treatment. Anyone with BPD is obviously still a question mark, but I think Marshall is taking all the necessary steps and like you said he's coming to a situation where he has someone like Cutler and a great locker room. I think Chicago is the very best place he could of landed and if he's puttin up 1200 last year with Moore I'm ready to see what he can do with Cutty at QB.

Well it's the same with many mental illnesses. If you can identify the triggers, see them coming, and have a method of coping with them properly you've won 80%-90% of the battle. He seems to be on the right path to doing that but he'll probably need to continue therapy for quite a while to keep things balanced. As you point out fortunately he has the $$$ to get the best treatment available.
