If we look at the sheer number of guys who rate anywhere from the late first to the mid third round there are younger guys who can come in and contribute and maybe even earn a starting spot in a year or two. Getting Marshall at age 27 negates the need to bring in a 30 something guy like Plax instead of a younger guy.
We have our #1 WR now it's time to work on upgrading Nos. #2 and #3 and there are guys in this draft who could do that.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Quit demonizing Plaxico!! Yeah, he was drunk, and yeah he was carrying an unlawfully concealed weapon in sweatpants upstairs with the safety off. Who HASNT done that? LOL
In all seriousness, tho, as good as Jay may be in keeping order with Marshall, I don't think a proven WR with proven problems is the right idea (his problem is that he's old and not as good...)

I'm not against the signing but if he thinks he's going to cancer up our locker room then stuff his ass in the locker. I think he can help us but im with most when i want to see some young blood. S. Hill please come to chicago and be our randy moss that weve needed for the past 20 years

Last off season I was one of those advocating in favor of Plax. This off season is different. This off season the Bears have already added BMarsh. We now have (in theory) that #1 WR. Adding more veteran players at this position will result in more players not getting field time. Similar to how all those failed OT projects became Guard prospects, and now we have so many guards that we will have to let some go before we find out how well some of them would have done on the field.
It will better serve the franchise to draft some decent WR talent to develop. It is less expensive, and if it turns out that Drake can't coach up a WR(strong possibility), then the franchise needs clear, unequivocal proof. Drafting a new WR will provide that proof one way or another.
In short, No Plax.

It wasn't until I just read that statement that I realized we just traded for BM.
