you got it wrong soul Im the guy for replacing Webb any which way possible lol
when you have a guy like marshal we can afford to wait for a WR until the third round
either way Im looking for BPA at DE, WR, OT at our pick. Like if Reif falls to us hell yeah. If Perry falls to us hell yeah. If Floyd falls to us hell yeah.
But a G in the first round when their are plenty of options out there Im not on board with that
I guess if you really want to look at it without bias what positions you want it looks like we should go early for DE/OT and then go DB/WR/OG based on talent out there

If Floyd is available at #19 and the Bears pass on him...I swear I'm going to go ballistic. He's going to be a tremendous pro. Saw enough of him at ND to know that the Bears need to snatch him up. He'll catapult our offense to new heights.

That would be an overreaction. Much like every other WR prospect he's anything but a sure thing, we just landed our big #1 and we can use help all over the field.

Floyd certainly is a SURE thing. The guy is a beast on the field.

That's what they said about Big Mike Williams....look how that turned out. No one, reguardless of draft position or playing position is a sure thing.

Yeah, and that too, LOL.
I would purely love to see competition for that starting LT spot because until there is the only thing pushing Webb is him and Tice. The only options last year were either starting Carimi or moving CWill again and Tice spurned both. Maybe his position on that has changed who knows but we need another OT anyway so we may just as well draft a guy who projects there to replace OMG.
Life around here would have been so much simpler if we'd have been able to score both Marshall and MWill. That would have thrown the first three rounds wide open to virtually any possibility. Now a pass rusher of one kind or another seems to be a lock as far as round one goes. There isn't much after the first round that spells instant pass rush and even the first round guys have some questions about them as to where they play, DE or OLB.
Based on them saying that Oline is not a priority I take that to mean round one although if DeCastro or Reiff were still on the board I wonder of that would change their minds. If we spend a first round picks or even our second on an OG you have to figure he'll start and to me that would mean CWill most likely moves to LT may the best man win and the loser becomes the Swing OT which is what we were all talking about last year after Tice said Carimi will play RT.
Like I've been saying there's enough good talent at spots we need help to assure that we get at least three good players early in the draft. Players like we got last year. I just have no idea which way they'll go but we should be able to apply at least some BPA strategy in there somewhere.

hahaha
Okay. First of all, there's never a sure thing in the draft, not even Luck, Kalil or Blackmon fit that description, and they all showed me a hell of a lot more in college on and off the field than Floyd. Also, did you manage to see him get his ass handed to him by Xavier Rhodes?

I can see us drafting Quick, the WR from App St in the 3rd/4th rd, if he's still on the board. I'd rather have Hill but after the Marshall trade I don't see us drafting a WR in Rd 1.

We just traded for a guy who put the term "Beast of a WR" on the map and we know exactly what we have there. He goes out and does it every year no matter who he has throwing to him. So.........Brandon Marshall is a "sure thing" because he's proven it at an NFL level. Michael Floyd hasn't done that yet.
If the Bears thought Michael Floyd was better than Brandon Marshall why wouldn't they have saved themselves $10 mil and drafted Floyd? I'm not saying he might not be that good someday but today isn't that day.

Soul there is nothing wrong with the Bears upgrading the WR corp once and for all. The Bears need another big time talent at WR. At this point, we may not be able to count on Knox. The Bears aren't going to make it with just Marshall and Bennett and the inconsistent Hester and Sanzenbacher. The Bears need to look to take the best player available at #19 that will impact this time right away. Floyd is an NFL ready receiver. And the pass rushers that are going to be available when the Bears pick are even more questionable than Floyd. Floyd has done it his whole college career. There are no questions about him being a great Wr at the NFL level. He can do it all and has a very high ceiling. If he's there at #19, they need to pick him. They'll regret it if they don't.
