WR Mike Sims-Walker anyone?
Since we traded for BMarshall I don't think the Bears are gonna draft a receiver in the first round. So what about Mike Sims-Walker? He was placed on IR last November ending his season and was released the following month. He's tall, cheap and no worse than guys like Hester, Knox and Sanz.
Pick him up and focus on drafting DL, OL, LB and DB.
Your thoughts?

Ditto to a ton of guys in the draft. I think MSW has had a couple knee injuries. I'll take my chances with a draftee.

Nah, he wasn't even doing well before he got hurt. No matter how cheap he may be no vet will be less expensive than a 2nd or 3rd round rookie. He was interested in coming to Chicago last years and we passed him over for RWill. To me that says enough about where he ranks as far as the Bears are concerned.
As far as the Bears needs are concerned as long as Lovie is running this team the positions we almost have to draft and develop right now are WR's, DLinemen and Olinemen. Other than QB's those are least available and most expensive guy in FA. They're the "cap busters". These are the areas Angelo missed the boat on so many times over the past ten years that we are and have been short on top talent throughout his reign.
Of the four highest playing positions (QB, WR, Dline, OT) in three of those our best player is not someone we drafted. Only Carimi as our best OT is our own draftee. Emery was hired because of his talent as an evaluator of college talent and after the hole plugging we do this year I expect to see us far more oriented to drafting guys in the future than picking them up in FA at least at those positions.
We can't improve OT in the draft this year so we should focus on the positions we can and WR and DE are two of those. There's little if anything in the way of top pass rushers after the first round but there's a good supply of WR ranked in the 2nd and 3rd rounds all of whom would be a better and cheaper option than Sims-Walker. At least that's the way I see it.

Such a bad idea, that Angelo signed RW over him last year...

And even RWill was more productive.

I would honestly take a WR in the 2nd or 3rd than Sims Walker...

I was going to say wasn't MSW cut twice now by the Jags?
