I'd like to think that's true but then how did we ever end up with Omiyale?

No, that's a good point!
Somebody obviously thought they saw something somewhere along the line that warranted the signing.
But then again, there was a lot of that "I can make a silk purse" mentality under JA.
Still, you would logically assume a pro scout (and especially a GM) would already know what casual fans learned over the course of a few seasons.

Some of this has valid points but it all goes out the window when the gm forgets to check the box to create a fa cap blunder and in his tenth year of being a gm screws up a draft day trade. I hope that won't be the case with emery. So far so good i guess i just expected more roster change then sos

If it does to you too, then what is the common denominator that remains from both administrations?
Its not about making "special moves," some of us are just enamored with him because he is making SMART moves. Small, calculated smart moves to improve a team arent as easily recognized as guys that make splashes in FA (like Snyder), but they are important to note.
Yes, dumping Omiyale is an easy decision to make...so easy that JA never even made it. Its something simple like that that can make a world of difference, a GM willing to cut the fat off the steak when its not needed. Brandon Marshall is another example...its a high risk/high reward move. He knew about the possible legal ramifications before making the trade, but the SMART part about it all is that it cost us very little. Does anyone believe JA would have been able to pull off that trade for just 2 3rd rounders? I sure dont.

Yea, I think he would have, but it's a moot point because neither position is provable. I also agree with you pertaining to the smart calculated moves making a team better, and I think those are the types of moves that in fact DO quietly make a team better. I have always said that good teams are built by the quality of the lunch pail guys and not that of the handful of Super-stars they collect. I would prefer a team of all fundamentally sound, football smart, above average athletes than a team of average quality guys with 5 "NFL Bests" at various positions, but that's just me. As far as Omiyale goes, I think the writing was on the wall for him regardless of whether Angelo stayed or left. The biggest problem I have with Angelo was that he grabbed Omiyale to begin with, and frankly, paid him handsomely for an unproven guy. I still don't have an answer whether or not that was more Lovie or Angelo, but it was ultimately on Angelo. However, lets consider that before Lovie received more personnel "clout" after his 2007 extension, Angelo put a pretty good O-Line together from FA, including John Tait, Reuben Brown, Roberto Garza and Fred Miller. It was only after Lovie had more of a hand in personnel issues that our O-Line began having bigger problems. Now, I'm not suggesting that it's all on Lovie because Angelo was the GM, but honestly, doesn't it at least give pause for consideration? However, as I said above about the trade, this too is a moot point as it is unprovable, however, several in the media and sports radio have been recently suggesting that Lovie has had more personnel authority over the past few years than previously thought.
Regardless, your points are good ones and those things that we may disagree on, I do so respectfully.
