Bears sign Michael Bush
According to tweets from Zach Zadman it sounds like its official
Whats this mean for Forte? Gonna be traded or do we now have another strong backup?

If traded, it would be Emery's first BIG mistake as a GM....then again, worse moves have happened.

This could easly mean the end for Forte here in Chicago. If he is not willing to sign the Bears deal then I see the Bears trading him.

Short faced bear posted Biggs Tribune article in the M.B. visits Chicago thread, it does not suggest a trade is imminent or even being considered, on the contrary, Emery said they are working on signing him long term (still). He also points out that the bears focus has been on offense during free agency, maybe portending a draft heavy in defense?

REALLY hope this is just a depth move. True that he's not the best runner in the league, but I believe his value lies in his versatility and cannot be overstated. He's top 5 as far as runners go, only receiving options that one might choose ahead of him are Rice and McCoy (neither of whom had to step up and be the leading receiver on their team), and it might just be the homer in me but I believe he's the best blocking back in the league.
It's been said that championships can be won without elite talent at the RB position - I can't disagree with this statement. That being said, why get rid of a guy that can fill 3 separate roles on a team with a legitimately questionable OL and 2 viable receiving options?

They will likely cut Barber... But honestly I'd rather keep him and cut Bell
But if Forte is traded, we would get a haul

I like the move for 2 reasons,
1. Bush is talented enough to give you leverage over Forte if he holds out or his contract demands continue to be ridiculous. Bush can step in to Marion Barbers role on the goal line and keep Forte fresh.
2. Bush is a nice compliment to Forte as he is a big punishing runner that can grind people down and take the goal line touches.

Depends what we get for him.
RBs in the NFL are the most replacable of any position and if someone offered us a 1st round pick for him I think he could be on his way out the door.
