I believe it and maybe there would be some justice in confiscating picks and doling them out to teams whose players were victims of a bounty. When a method of play sets out to intentionally deprive teams of their star players I can't think of a better eye for an eye punishment. Losing only two draft picks was a light rap on the knuckles in that regard.

I'm glad to see Payton and their Asst.HC suspended. If you're not aware of something like a bounty system that sets out to potentially destroy players careers then you should have been. The buck needs to stop somewhere. I saw a poll asking whether the penalties the Saints got were to severe and the only states with a majority of respondents saying yes were TX, AK, LA, and MS. That figures.

I was a Saints fan at one time because I was glad to see that team turn itself around after all those years in the cellar. Now, they should rot in the cellar for another three decades and the league should suspend every player on that team who took part in that system starting with Vilma. If we have to start calling them the NO "Replacements" that's fine with me. Just think how much money Tom Benson can save by signing Keeanu Reeves to play QB rather than Drew Brees.

Would it be enough to explain it away as just a game when you know damn well it was done intentionally to collect a lousy $15,000!? We all know that there are some intense rivalries in the game, and that some players will try a little harder to "hurt" the other team by injuring a player from the other team. But this is pre-meditated bodily injury, and that is a lot more serious by it's very nature. The idea that a coach would purposely send people out onto the field with the intent to hurt and maim an opposing player is beyond playing a game. I'm freaked out that a coach wants a win so bad that he would even consider putting a bounty on another human being. What happened to good sportsmanship? If football has gotten to the point that hurting someone on purpose becomes a norm, then maybe it's time to just end football altogether. So yes, those people who are/were a part of planned injuries to other players need to be dealt with harshly. No fines or suspensions can make up for someone's permanent disability and then inability to provide, play, earn, and even just live a normal life. These people who are charged with this crime need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and then banned from all sports for life.

Okay, let's say that spygate made it so the Pats were unbeatable, and somehow that's worse than intentionally using your 200lb body as a spear towards a weak spot on another human, then so what? The Pats didn't hurt anyone, at won they got a few games they didn't deserve. The Saints, on the other hand, are like the teams of old like Forrest Gregg's 86 packers...If that idiot Martin hadn't injured McMahon so deliberately, then the Bears likely would've had a deserved dynasty. I wonder who the saints did that to, that could say the same, but I can tell you we needed Bennett a lot more than we had him this year, and same with Carimi. BTW, it's only obvious if your team played the saints from 2009-2011 and you think an injury was fishy, you're more than likely right, because Sean Payton was such an arrogant ****** about getting caught and told to stop that they really banned HIM more for being a douche than his on-field stuff.
