Love me some Forte, I really, truly do. However, considering the shelf-life of the NFL HB, I listen to offers. I will also add this link...

I hope that is just Emery being a dickwad to the Pats for trying to swoop in on the situation. "We'll consider it, I'll call in a day or so." And never calls back. Is it just me or does that seem really low for Forte?

Forte is only first round ... nothing less ... and N.E.'s draft pick is 31.
A second and a fourth?
Geez Emery you did good up until now.
Forte and Bush would rule the NFC North.
Theres no other backfield like it.
Look ... all he wants is the money that can be paid now that Barber has retired.
Pay him the money and lets get into camp.

Well I guess some things to consider is what is patriots cap situation considering forte is looking for d will money cause normally they don't spend on their rbs and spent early picks last year at the position

No way to do I trade him for the Pats 2nd and a 4th. Their 2nd is almost a 3rd and their 4th is almost a 5th. This is little more than we got for Greg Olsen and it's waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy short of his value to the Bears or anyone else.
I wouldn't even want to make that trade for the their 1st and a 4th. My response would be give me your first, third, and fourth and we'll call you back. That's the equivalent of the 23rd pick in the first round. What they're offering is the equivalent of the #58 pick in the draft if trading their own 2nd and or the #44 pick if they give us that #48 pick. So in other words a mid to a late second round pick. No way do I make that deal this year when I have him franchised.
I they traded for less than a mid to low 20's first rounder right now I would be pissed.

Soul other then qb and ja throwing a 2 for Adams when have we seen fair value in any trade? Moss 4 marshal two 3 Demeco Ryan 4 etc
Other then the recent cutler trade and rg3 trade up we don't see teams giving up big for players

Then we shouldn't trade him. He's worth more than a very late second and third. That's a horrible offer for a franchised rb.

All the more reason not to make a trade when we have no reason to. Forte will not hold out when he's due to get almost $8 mil this year. Training camp is months away and the draft is still a month off. If you were gonna trade him wait until the draft begin and if a team misses out on a pick who needs a RB the deal mat be a lot sweeter because of the pressure to make a quick decision. If we traded him for that little we got hoodwinked and whatever we gained by getting Marshall so cheap we lose.
If NE want to pony up their 1st and 2nd that's the equivalent of the #19 pick points wise so at that point I give it some serious though otherwise there's no way I do it now. His price isn't going down the closer we get to the draft and if anything it may go up. You really want to make NE richer and us poorer then make this trade!

Something about this just doesn't sound right. The only way I see this happening is if the McCaskeys pressure Emery into it, because they don't want to deal with PR problems from players. There's no way Emery doesn't see what we see in Forte (a great player for the Bears who is worth more than what's being offered).
