    NFC North Offseason Moves

    I wanted a single place to track what we and our fellow NFCN rivals are doing this offseason. I'll edit this original post as I see transactions made by any of the four teams or as you all make me aware of them by posting here or in seperate threads. I did not include players signed from the practice squad to future's contracts since they'll likely just be camp fodder. Also, I may have missed several FA's from the other teams that were simply allowed to leave, because they aren't listed as "transactions", so if you have info on those let me know and I'll add them in.

    Blue = signed/re-signed
    Red = released/waived/shown the front door/lost to FA

    Okoye is a FA so his contract just expired. We haven't cut of released him it's just that we haven't re-signed him although Emery says we are in the process of negotiating with him. He's another guy we need back.

    And, I guess, RWill and some other folks on this list would probably fall under the same scenario. I'm just wanting to have a general idea of all of the players that the teams have added or lost in any respect. I'll add "lost to FA" next to the red. I'm definitely hoping to add Okoye to the blue group.

    Yeah, he's a bigger piece than many might think based on his play. There are a lot of intangibles that come with that kid. His age is one along with the fact that he was playing in a defense in Houston that wasn't a real good fit for his skills. I really do think the kid is just stepping into his game and the idea of having him, Melton and Paea rushing in a rotation makes me smile ear to ear. That would be the best inside pass rushing trio we've had for 30 years.

    There hasn't been any news of him visiting or talking with other teams and if mo says he's been hanging out in Nigeria it doesn't sound like he's touring the league looking for work or that he's all that concerned about where he'll play in 2012. Maybe the Bears made an offer and told him to come back with a better one if he got it and give them an opportunity to match it. I think that's what they did in Davis' case and I'm guessing Okoye would command $3-$4 mil per year at this stage of his career.

    Erin Henderson | OLB Previous Team: Minnesota Exp: 4 years

    Analysis: The Vikings have re-signed Henderson to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday. Henderson was one of the Vikings' most consistent players on defense last season. He was fourth on the team with 91 tackles and also had eight tackles for loss in his first season as a full-time starter.
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    Kevin Smith | RB Previous Team: Detroit Exp: 4 years

    Analysis: The Lions have re-signed Smith to a one-year deal, the team announced Tuesday on its official website. The Lions took a flier on Smith during the 2011 season after injuries to Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure depleted their depth at running back, and Smith rushed for 356 yards and four touchdowns in seven games.
