Srsly tho, if the TE from Clemson is there in the third, and he's worth a pickup. Maybe they could use two TE sets a lot more too, then.

He came back here probably because we were the best chance to be a team's go-to guy to go along with familiarity.
I am just providing the counter argument.
I understand that there were other teams interested, but he ended up signing a 2 year 6 million dollar deal, which does not scream elite talent. Soul and I had this exact conversation about how we would not pay anymore than 2-3 million for Davis and would not be mad if he left because he is more potential and physical package than he is really good TE.
I am interested to see what Davis can do full time, but adding Fleener does not mean that Davis goes to the bench because they are very different players.
Imagine a red zone set of
X: Marshall 6'4"
Y: Fleener 6'6"
Slot: Bennett
TE: Davis 6'7"

Amd Webb missing his block, wont matter. OK I had my rant. I do like that line up.

No worries, the Webb thing haunts me like a 6'8" 335lbs. nightmare, but than I rip move inside on it and it goes away.

Given our legitamate othe rholes, I would say that picking Fleener at 19 would be a worse first-round decision for us than anything JA did. Not to mention I just see zero value in him there. Considering the probable stock of them, the only TE I draft this year is Ladarious Green, in the late third, and that kid is raw as hell. I'm quite happy with our TE situation, with or without Spaeth. We're a lead-blocking FB team and we have a good one in Clutts, so I just don't see any need for an H-back type player early. I'm fine with Kyle Adams in that role for now.

U don't give a te 3 mil then draft one in the first round
Ad last time I remembered we drafted a te in first round based on a 40 time and was underwhelmed by his production
Give me a damn de db or ot in the first please

I like the Fleener kid from Stanford, but not for us. We would be absolutely dumb to pick him up at nineteen when he would be there ten picks later, unless somebody else wants to make a dumb decision. Even if we did that, I'd be disappointed. D line in the first round hopefully.

Now add in a big back like Bush ( goal-line ) or an all purpose back like Forte ( red-zone ) and who do you defend ? Ur right Fleener is the more polished receiver who is quicker coming off the line and has better hands. I like it ... alot and wouldn't be upset to see it - but still think LT is the more important need.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

If Fleener is available in rd 2 they should seriously consider drafting him. Very good college player.

In the second, absolutely. There would be outstanding value on him there unlike at 19.
