Leadership comes from experience and time on duty and on this line Garza proved himself very capable in that regard. I have no worries in that regard and if we don't draft a younger prospect at OC I believe Spencer can do the job if called on. He appears to have bettered himself playing in Chicago.
I don't know about all that.
If your talking raw ROOKIE talent then yes agreed. However there are many examples and stories where cohesion is overrated. If your a vet and do your job there is already inherent cohesion and therefore leadership in example. The good thing about what happened to this line is it got experience and is now VERY flexible.
Which Wisconsin OL would you like to see here Soul? Konz or Zeitler?
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

Lovie has stated his position. I hope to hell it works out, Cutler and B-Marsh dominate (with Forte's help of course) and Da Bears finish on top, where they belong. Those players have the talent to do just that. If that happens I will be so incredibly happy to eat all deserved crow related to my position related to our O-line.
Anything short of playoffs, and I don't mean one-and-done, regardless of injury or other bullshit excuses should result in Lovie and Co. being shown the door. This stubborn attitude has cost the Bears in the past, and I believe this to be another case of the same ol'. Webb is our LT, and we'll go from there.

Ya'll go on accepting the BS. I been choking on it for years and I'm tired of it. Lovie can keep selecting his guys for the D - it'll be his ticket out of town .
And you go on accepting that it's not. Excuse the fuck outta me BH-s but which NFL team did you say you coached last year, or was it the year before? Please submit your advanced grading system for Olines so that we can all share in your wisdom about this. All I have to go on is what I saw.
If Mike Tice is considered to be one of the better Oline coaches in the NFL and if he has at least a marginal comfort level with some of the guys he's got I'll take his word for it. You don't and that's fine. It's why there are more shades than just black and white which is apparently all there are in your world. Not every guy on that line sucks and if you brought in FA's last years and paid them all $10 mil per year to block in that passing game most would have struggled too. The running game averaged 4.5 ypc and we had a RB who averaged 4.9 ypc and made the Pro-Bowl. Somebody must have blocked someone at least some of the time right?
I've seen hundreds of players improve with experience and time on the job and the odds of the Bears lineman getting better with experience as opposed to worse is definitely on my side. If you think they've peaked and this is the best they'll ever get why not just sign or draft five new guys every until you get an All Pro line and then watch yourself lose them one by one because you can't afford a $60 mil per year Oline when they start wanting deals that pay them $12 mil per year each.
This isn't Madden and it ain't FF. You don't buy Olines you F'n BUILD them and it takes time to do it. Should we have signed Carl Nicks instead of Marshall and Campbell or Bush? Because what you would have spent on Nicks would have prevented us from spending the same money on Marshall and Campbell or Bush and you'd have one All Pro OG and unacceptable backup for Cutler and Forte. Did we fail to make the playoffs last year because CWill was lost or because Cutler and Forte went down?
Maybe if we had a #1 receiver with Marshall's skills who could get open and catch instead of Roy Williams then the Oline wouldn't have had to hold blocks for so long and even when they did could he catch the balls that were thrown to him? How many games did Earl Bennett miss last year and did the same guys on the same line you're trashing magically get soooooo much better all of a sudden when he returned or was it because Jay finally found a guy who get open and catch the ball so he didn't need to hold it so long?
Lord save me from all the couch potato GM's who think they know enough about the salary cap and player evaluations to build the Chicago Bears into the dynasty of the decade by doing it their own way. Maybe y'all should have asked Ted Phillips to get on his interview list a few months ago.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Re-read the article - 3rd HIGHEST in runs STUFFED at the LOS and 20th in converting short yardage ..... frankly I don't gaf if you don't like my opinion. All I can do is go by what I see and what I see is an O-line that STILL needs a serious upgrade overall ( and this comes from watching 40 yrs of fb and I think I've learned something during that time thank you very much ... and YES I could do a good job as a scout if it was my job but it isn't ... for now ). Anyways .... You've got the PR handjob BLINDERS on like some others, and that surprises me a little cuz ur usually one of the guys around here who doesn't do that. But whatever , we all know you've got a diamond-cutter about getting a DE so you my get your wish ... after all u've got Lovie in your corner. So have faith ( which is more than I can say for this O-line ).
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Cutty has his fav college .... AND his fav pro, as his WR's now . So if there ever was a time for him to produce at his top level , it should be now. No guarantee but his comfort level should be pretty f'n good now .... if we could only fix that pesky LT position. But for some reason this management seems to like riding the bicycle with the broken spoke so ........ why fix it. DUH .
