I'm a traditionalist, so when I see a space taken out on the sleeve to put the Nike "swish" on it and just a couple of inches above I see them put the numbers there when they were originally where the swish is at now, that burns me up. Leave it to Nike to fuck up a wet dream. This franchise hasn't changed its shirt in over 50 or 60 years, so I would prefer to keep what's worked for a while.

Nike's all about self promotion. That's Nike's tradition. I'm surprised the Nike swoosh isn't bigger than the numbers.

Tell me about it. Most college jerseys haven't been affected that badly by Nike. Alabama uses Nike, and have the same uniforms for football now that they wore when Bear Bryant coached at the school. I'm just not into Nike fucking around with something that was already perfect the way it was. It would be like Majestic coming in and changing the Yankees' home uniforms. If that happened, fans would be livid. I'm the same with the Bears. I want the same traditional uniform kept as has been utilized for the past sixty years.

I agree. There was no need to fuck with perfection.

So, you're telling me the jerseys they wore last year are the same jerseys they wore in the 60's and 70's? The Bears have made several minor changes to their uniforms over the last few decades and that's all this was - a minor change. I also prefer the numbers on the sleeve as opposed to the shoulder, but you guys are having anuerisms over this. lol

Yeah, we are :(
It hurts to look so pretty.
I mean hell, im still pissed that some of my "Authentic" Reebok jerseys still had the small thin numbers on the sleeves:

Instead of the smaller, thicker ones they ACTUALLY wear:

This isn't something as simple as making slight changes to the size of the numbers, Papa Bear. This is about putting the number on the shoulder instead of keeping it on the arm like the Bears have done for sixty some-odd years. Yeah, in 1973, the Bears change the English "C" on the helmet by filling it in with orange, but that didn't change the actual jersey. The Bears had, at that time, changed the helmet some two or three times over the course of twenty years. This is the most drastic change to the uniform since they started wearing navy pants at away games back in the 1980s. Changing the pants wasn't too bad, and the helmet actually looked better, but the jersey change sucks, and I will only purchase one simply because they won't be selling anymore Reebok jerseys after this is all said and done.

Please, everyone in here is talking tradition and history; over the last 40+ years our tradtion has sucked balls; 2 championships in 50+ years. That's the tradition that cannot be changed? That's like Cubs fans saying they cannot change Wrigley b/c of the "tradition". Shitty tradition can and should be changed. And it's not even a drastic change like the C on the helmet, or color scheme's. It's a move from the #'s going from the sleeve to the shoulder. Nothing drastic like what TB did in changing the whole color design and Buc symbol. Nothing like what NE or Den did. It's such a non issue that it's laughable.
Dagan, look at that Doug Atkins pic you have on your sig, that Jersey he's where looks nothing like what they where today; should we go back to that; and be pissed about the change in "tradition" only adding the GHS? So what if it's on the shoulder pad vs the sleeve? It's a minor change; just like adding the GHS and the white outlines around the orange stripe, no big deal, and at least in my opinion it's a nice change.

No, we are referring to uniform traditions.
Besides, changing a uniform (or not) has zero impact on a teams success. Unless we are talking about Buccs Creamsicles.

Well if you're talking about uniform tradtion then that is even sillier, b/c as you stated outside of the bucs it has zero impact on success....and even that was limited. The browns and GB also have uniform tradtion; but if I were a fan of theres I would beg for a change.
I like our Uni's, I have no problem w/them staying the same...but I don't have any problem w/them changing either...it happens, we've had 5 different uni's in the Bears history. History of the Chicago Bears Uniform - Chicago Bears
All I'm saying is change is not always bad, and the Bears don't have the same uniforms that they had from day one anyways so saying it's "tradition" is nonsense to begin with. In all actuality, the Bears didn't have this incarnation of the Blue jersey/orange stripes/white #'s and White jersey orange/stripes/blue #'s until the 50's...which was really when our on the field tradition took a turn for the worse. As a fan, I would think we would want to go back to one of the earlier uni "traditions" that symbolized when the Bears were on the top of pro football.
