Stanford's OT Jonathan Martin
ESPN analyst sees Bears taking tackle
McShay sees Bears drafting Stanford tackle
In his latest mock draft, ESPN analyst Todd McShay is predicting that the Bears will select Stanford offensive tackle Jonathan Martin with the 19th pick in the first round.
“Martin needs to add some strength, but he could pair with 2011 first-round OT Gabe Carimi to give offensive coordinator Mike Tice a pair of bookends to coach up,” McShay writes. McShay also believes that the Bears will choose Clemson tight end Dwayne Allen in the second round (50th overall). The Bears have seven picks in the 2012 draft, one in each round. In Rounds 3-7, they have the 79th, 111th, 150th, 184th and 220th selections.

If Vegas had odds on the Bears picking offense the first two rounds I would put my life savings on the line. With all of the moves they've made on offense during FA, I just can't see them continuing that with their top two picks. One, maybe. But, not two.

If Okoye isn't re-signed I'd bet the farm were going D

I want D line but i like the idea of two bookend tackles on O. I like Carimi, i saw a lot of him at college level on tv over here and i think he's got a lot to show us. I'm not sold on martin but I like the fact we have choices and arent tied into reaching for a guy just because we have glaring needs.
re-signing Okoye is a must though........

I can't imagine the Bears would waste their top pick any questionable T in RD 1.

I don't think he's questionable at all. I think he's gonna be a great pro and I'd be very happy if they pick him.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Or we are going to spend multiple picks on DL.
DE Bruce Irvin [2nd]

The most questionable thing about Martin is his ability to be a LT in the NFL. We already spent a #1 on a RT and we don't need another T who can't man the left side. Most of the scouting reports I've looked at suggest he will be a very good RT in the NFL. He just doesn't fit the Bears.

I think Stanford's OT Jonathan Martin would be one of our best picks at #19. Not saying we will pick him but I think he will be the best players at #19.
