Then started at RG against CAR in the first half and replaced Omiyale at RT in the 2nd half of the CAR game. Louis played RT the rest of the year from that game on. You're criticizing Louis based on his play at RT. lol I repeat, Louis is not a RT. He actually did the Bears a favor last year playing RT. I mean you're putting down a guy who was playing a position that he isn't even equipped to play. The guy is 6'3 and 320lbs and he's got short arms.
Get a fucking clue, dude. I said he was a guard. Do you know how to read? You were gushing like he was the next great RT there for a minute, and all I did was merely point out what happened to him as the season progressed at the position. If you have a problem with me and what I say, that's fine, because I'm apparently not the only guy that you have run-ins with. But respect other people's opinions if you want people to even give a shit about what you have to say. Capish?

No I wasn't pointing out that he's a great RT. I'm pointing out that you are ignorantly criticizing a guy's play when he isn't even playing the position he's supposed to be on that line. You hear? And what run-ins are you talking about? There are no run-ins.

He is probably a better OG than a OT for sure since that's his natural position, but I'm waiting patiently for Gabe Carimi to fully recover from his knee subluxation and become the force on the right side of the line that everyone says he will become.

I agree with you about Chris Williams too, but I'm really hoping Tice moves him back outside to at least compete with Webb for the LT job. At least make Webb earn his starting spot because he's done nothing the last 2 seasons to justify being anything more than a backup.
So ideally the Bears should snag a starting caliber Guard in the draft like Zeitler or Osemele in the 2nd round and give Williams an opportunity to play the position he was drafted as.

This all started with someone criticizing Louis giving up sacks, playing RT. The fact that anyone is even criticizing Louis for his play last year is beyond me. Criticize the guy's play when he actually plays 16 games at GUARD. That was my simple point. lol

Come on Papa, we can criticize him at any point as he is a professional. Lance Louis does, in fact, have the body type of a Guard, but he played Tight End, and RG for the first three years of college and then he played all his Senior games at SDSU at Right Tackle. Frankly, I'm not judging the kid based on last year at RT alone. He started 4 games at RG in 2010 as well as the start of the season last year. What I've seen of him, he played better at RT than he did at RG. For the record, I am an older guy that does not play video games, but I played a lot of football as a young man (I know, big whoop, no big deal), but I was always on the line at LG and LT. I've watched years and years of football, and I always loved watching ol Noah Jackson blowing holes open for Walter before we were blessed with the likes of Covert, Thayer, Hilgy, Bortz and Van Horne. Hell, at this point, I'd be happy with guys like Tait, Brown, Kreutz, Garza and Miller lining up again. What I see with the likes of Webb, Lewis, Spencer, Edwin WIlliams, etc. are the Bears finding guys with the body type they want for cheap and trying to make them work. Well, body type isn't everything and I think at this point, the coaches are over-estimating their own ability to make these guys into something they will never be. As always, when I critique the beloved, I hope I am wrong (which I am as often as I'm right), and I will be happy to eat crow if and when some of these guys start panning out. I just don't see it, and yes, I've watched the same games you have and I enjoy watching the O-Line play specifically.

i have to agree with you here, Louis is a guard and not a tackle. I wont hold him accountable until he screws up in his natural position

Garza went and played center last year though his true position is guard and he excelled. So I'll praise Garza and if Louis didn't do so well we should call him out but put into consideration that he wasn't playing his true position.

You're right you can criticize anyone you'd like, but being harsh on a guy who is a guard and was forced into emergency action at RT is a bit much. The O-lin was a mess last year because you had so many guiys playing different positions because of injuries. Yet they did a better than expected job, especially during that 5 game win streak with Cutler where they dramatically reduced sacks and were running the ball real well. That stretch sticks out for me and that's what I see the Bears building on. So I guess I see greater potential in this crop of lineman because now we have guys with expereince on this line.
For years, the Bears have not been dveloping their own lineman. Everything has been about signing FAs. Well, when young guys don't see the field at all...there are going to be some growing pains. I just think its a bit unfair for people to expect lineman, who rarely see the field, to come in and play like gangbusters. Its just very hard to develop when you never see the field, but pratically everyone on the current group of O-lineman got valuable game day experience lst year. So I'm excited about all of them building on that.
