Any news if they plan on having him add weight to compete with Webb?

Yes, we have more kick returners.
Yes, we will still use Hester for KR when needed.
Yes. Hester will still do
PR.
Yes, Hester will still play WR.
More? Not actually. We lost Knox (more than likely) and manning. We picked up two returners.
It was a wash, and assuming that hester will return any less kicks than he did last year is nothing but baseless speculation.

Um, we lost Manning on July 28, 2011 last year before the season started.

This is shitty news.
Taking Hester away from what he does best is a bad idea. He is born and bread to return kicks and it is obvious that is what his vision serves him best for. When is the last time the Hester actually made a player after a catch? The last one I can remember is the Slant route TD against (Vikings?) around 4 years ago.
Let this guy dow what he does best, he is argueably our 3/4 receiving option at best.

I feel ya. But the news article is just one guys take on things. Pure speculation. Not much is going to change. Hester will still be returning kicks and punts. Knox was returning a lot of kicks last year anyways. No worries yet.

I'm pretty sure his contract is up at the end of the season? If so (and he gets too much for a third/fourth string WR, which is what he really is outside of his return game) then its a good move to get alternative options in for when it comes round to negotiation time next spring.
All that said though, I like Devin, I'll never forget going mental at that opening kick off in the superbowl. Beer and pint glasses flying everywhere, everyone on their feet in the Sports Cafe, London as he sprinted to the house glancing up at the scoreboard! All the sweeter because i was with some Colts fans and had just foolishly (drunkenly) made them a 50 GBP bet that he was going to do just that! (paid for my beer that night!).. rest of the game wasnt so good however.

Yeah, but Angelo was always a little slow on the part where he actually does something about it.

If I remember right, he has one year left after this one, but will be owed a $10+ million bonus of some sort. Either way, he's going to be getting paid too much.
