Safety Major Wright changes his number from 27 to 21 (Graham's number), the number he wore at Florida. Hopefully 21 is the magic armor he needs to stay healthy. Jonathan Wilhite chose #27, Kelvin Hayden #24 and Michael Bush #29.
Btw, Bears now have a lot of rostered receivers wearing numbers in the teens block instead of the eighties block, something we haven't seen much of in Chicago.
#11 Devin Thomas
#13 Johnny Knox
#14 Eric Weems
#15 Brandon Marshall
#18 Dane Sanzenbacher
Earl Bennett (#80) and Max Komar (#83) are the only receivers wearing 80s numbers right now. #84-#87 and #89 are all taken by tight ends.
I don't think Knox, Sanz and Komar will make it to the final roster, though. Personally, I would like to see the Bears drafting a WR in the 2nd-4th round and give him a 80s number.
I remember watching that game and thinking "Why the fuck didn't he go for the pick?" Looked like an easy pick....big hitter but he's never gonna get many picks for us.
I lost faith in Major Wright a long time ago. I remember in particular the Philadelphia game this past year in which he looked totally lost out in the open trying to figure out who he was supposed to defend. This is why I was so pissed off when the Bears opted to not re-sign Danieal Manning. Manning has the potential of making the Pro Bowl with his ability to cover, yet Jerry Angelo didn't want to fork out the money to keep him. Now he is in Houston where he is helping make that team's defense into a monster of a unit, while the Bears' secondary struggles.
