We don't need a WR before round 3 at minimum and 2 of our first 3 picks should be defense.

We have 2 DEs over 30 and only 1 is a pass rush threat. We are also thin inside after losing Okoye. Then of course we could use some youth at LB and there's some quality OL guys who could upgrade us as well. So....barring some very bizarre scenario...going WR and CB in the first two picks makes zero sense to me. Jmo
I agree that Hill will not really contribute this season.

I think that Wright is far more than a slot WR.

The DL needs to be addressed early in the draft with DE being a priority pick, but if you read the tea leaves the DE talent they are talking to is guys expected to be 2nd round picks [Irvin, Chandler Jones], although Jones seems to be rising as fast as Coples and Upshaw are fallling.

My perfect world would be to draft DE in round 1 and then move up to secure a starting calibre WR in the 2nd round.

    1[19] DE Nick Perry [USC]

*Trade 2[50] and 3[80] to Indianapolis for 2[34] and 5th

    2[34] WR Rueben Randle [LSU]

There are 2 rookie starters that we can insert into the line up Day 1.

and i dont understand why people cling to the offensive line moto, last year we were 7-3 before Cutler TOOK HIMSELF OUT, he also was one of the least sacked QB's as well and we were 4th in scoring, the offensive line isnt and wasnt all that bad as they are made out to be. One the other side of the ball i can understand taking a DE in the 1st round because front four pressure makes INT's and fumbles happen and stops scoring which we need badly to beat out our division. I agree we dont need a WR in the 1st round but if we can move up in the 2nd to grab Hill im all over that

^^completely agree i think what it is is that a lot of people dont understand what they are watching when it comes to o line play

7 step drops with a five up protection or even a five slide (HB going to strong side of front) is sucidal

No play action to slow down the rush

No quick hitting passes other than a back checkdown

No chance forn Webb being asked to make that block consistantly

New scheme plus Carimi back plus OTAs and camp, were going to be jus fine

As far as first second pick goes i think its WR/DE depending on whos available

I tend to agree with that, but I think, as a caveat, the best player available at the #19 position will be a DE, so I believe that the Bears will take either Coples or Mercilis, depending on which is available. However, I would doubt it nor be upset if Emery decided to trade up his second pick and the fourth round pick to get a second first round pick and go after either Wright or Hill. Doing so would essentially solve a lot of problems for us, and then the only major problem we would have as far as a "desperate need" would be to eventually find someone to take Webb's place at LT, which, as we all know well, Tice is deadset against doing.
