He's had a really weird choppy start to his pro career though. If it's all settled down and he's healthy and ready to get back on track and stay there ..... then I'd love to see hum make the team. It'd be easy to just write him off but there's a good solid RB in that uni just waiting to get untracked.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?
A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Unga pulled a hamstring in a preseason game that put him out for the entire season.

I know .... snakebit. There's a good football player in there somewhere . Hope he has better luck this time around.

No, I said don't believe they will but in my mind, if we can't get fair value for him, it would be just fine with me if we did just as long as he plays without causing trouble or pouting in the press every other week and I think his teammates will take care of that.
If the offer we've made essentially guarantees him what he'd make in tag salary over two years the only burden for us is that it wouldn't be as cap friendly but neither would a deal that's costs us a lot more than that. So, it's six of one half dozen of another. If we're gonna offer him $17-$18 mil over the next two years on a LT deal and he won't take it then if we can't get picks or players we want in return then hell yes, franchise his ass. Maybe then he'll realize what his true value is.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

So much for Forte playing for the love of the game. It's always about the top dollar amount these players think they can get. It's frankly sickening. I guess Forte doesn't care or give a shit about what all his loyal fans in Chicago and across the country think and how they feel for him. No, check that - they all think that it's the Bears' fault. I know this from what a friend said to me in a conversation about the situation.

This may be another sign that Forte will be gone. I'd trade him for a 1st rounder and take a WR and DE in the 1st round.
We would be better than with keeping Forte and the drama/bitching that will come with it for 1 year

He doesn't have to worry quite as much. His loyal fan base is shrinking rapidly.

I like the move of bringing Unga back for training camp. Competition between Bell and Unga will only make the two of them better and the same for Bush pushing Forte in practice.
I personally can't blame Forte for his stance against the franchise tag and only wanting to sign a long term deal... a RB in the current state of the NFL has a window so short and the risk for significant injury to end your career is much greater when you're playing and you know you don't have anything past that lone FT year.
Can the Bears actually trade Forte in the draft/off-season even if he hasn't signed the FT contract yet?
