BOISE STATE CAREER SENIOR (2011): Started each of Boise State’s 13 games…named All-Mountain West First Team…registered 50 tackles (30 solo), the third-most on the team…his 7.0 sacks led the Broncos, and his 12.5 tackles-for-loss were second-most…forced a fumble against TCU (Nov. 12)…intercepted two passes, one each against Colorado State (Oct. 15) and San Diego State (Nov. 19)…also blocked a kick against the Rams…career-high eight tackles (two solo) against UNLV (Nov. 5)…career-high 2.5 sacks against Georgia (Sept. 3) in the season-opener…season-high 3.0 TFLs against Arizona State in MAACO Bowl Las Vegas (Dec. 22)…TFLs in eight games and sacks in six…0.54 sacks per game was sixth in the Mountain West…ranked tied for sixth in the league in TFLs (0.96 per game)…completed the season ranked tied for 15th amongst active players in career sacks (20.5)…five-or-more tackles in five games…named Boise State’s Defensive Most Valuable Player at the annual banquet...named to the 2011 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List, given annually to the nation’s top lineman...also named Athlon Sports Preseason All-America Second Team. Ladies and gentlemen, the statistics that you see represent a quality five-technique DE from Boise State. Get used to him. He's going to be the DE of the future for this franchise.

I admit that I was a bit befuddled by Emery's choice of players at first, but the more I read and the more I see of this guy, the more I think that Emery got the right player. He is apparently a three down DE who is capable of being a lot like Tracy Armstrong, according to what soulman says. I don't remember Tracy Armstrong, so I can't really relate. But I can tell you that I think Emery got this one right.

His speed was amazing for his size. He ran a 4.65 in the 40-yard dash, the second best time among DE in the draft behind only Bruce Irvin. He's an all-around athlete capable of inflicting some serious damage. In thread announcing his pick, I posted a video of highlights from his 2010 season. Below, I will post some highlights from 2011:



His athleticism is not to be questioned. His motor is unbelievable. McClellin is the real deal.
