thats cool soul how many playoff games would we win or even get to without Cutler? None thats why you invest in a oline. And for the supposed "running team" maybe a better interior oline that isnt rated worse in football for rushing yards......you know a little push at the goalline. The oline matters soul or did you forget how bad ass the 85 bears oline was.

No man I didn't forget and I watched them build it. Carimi = Van Horne, if we could have gotten Matt Kalil we'd have had our Covert. Bortz was an 8th round DT out of Iowa that took us a few seasons to convert into a very good OG = maybe CWill once he plays the position for an entire year?? Tom Thayer at RG = Lance Louis. I can see a parallel there but Thayer originally went to the USFL and didn't play for the Bears right after he was drafted, Becker played before him.

What we lack is a Jimbo Covert and the two years these guys spent together as a unit before they began playing playoff caliber football every year. They weren't the "Bruise Brothers" yet in 1983 I can tell you that.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Mo, our offensive line was one of the best run blocking lines in the league last year, so do give them credit where credit's due. We finished eighth in the league in rushing yards and rushed for more than 2,000 yards for the first time since 1990, I do believe. We'll do well running the ball, I believe, but the area with which I'm concerned is the same old story that has existed for years now is the LT position and pass protection. Carimi's return should help that, but I'm wondering what will happen if and when the Bears decide to have Chris Williams compete with Webb for the LT position? I don't see it happening, but you never know. Stranger things have happened.

Dags our interior rushing yards ranked next to last. It shows how weak our interior olinemen are

And soul you have to at least try to improve the unit. Anytime someone on a team is ranked last the mission Gould be to replace asap

Having tice isn't an excuse we don't need oline talent just like having marineli isn't an excuse we don't need dline talent. Marineli looked like SOS here until we gave him a peppers. He has developed one player since the buc days-Melton. He helped developed nothing in Detroit. But give him peppers we become respectable again. And the same shit goes with tice. Got to get some talent and if someone doesn't work out dont let ego get in the way move on

Our interior line got bad when we put in Edwin Williams, mo. It was doing well at LG when Chris Williams was anchoring that position. Garza is a pretty good blocker, but I will grant you that Spencer is pretty inconsistent. It depends who is in there as far as how much production we get out of the running game. Frankly, we have a very good running game, so something must be working correctly.
