At first, I thought 4th was trying to push me around, but then he and I had a conversation and communicated through several messages, and I learned what was really going. DB54 would bate people into saying stuff that would make him mad, then he'd run to the moderators and complain about them. Apparently, he did this a lot.

He only ran to benjamin because he was the only mod dumb enough to respond back to pm. lol In all fairness dags, db54 cried about every comment I made towards him, If i called him a homer or angleo lover he would cry foul every time. If someone called me a name the mental midget would high five that person every time but if someone made any type of negative reference toward him it was considered a personal attack which wound end up as a very long pm to some mod and it was my fault. Just like Ric posted, he would attack people but get all butthurt when they attacked back.

So, do you think that this latest insurgence of massive thread posts by the RSS feed is caused by the ghost of DB54?

Most of the problem I'd say. I think quite a few of us tried to straighten things out, and that included some monstrous attempts and patience on the part of the staff, but in the end the amount of daily complaints that piled up were just too much.

He contributed a lot and posted a lot of articles, and I've been trying to cover some of that, but man he was a hard line "homer" who hated to see anything or anyone associated with the Bears ever belittled or criticized. He defended JA pretty frequently but I honestly wonder how he'd contrast Emery's style and success so far with Angelo's. The disparity is pretty plain.

He and I had some great debates on opposite sides of a topic and I still consider him a friend. I just wish I could have done more to tone down his attacks on certain posters or certain points of view. I did try.

As did I. DB54 used to buy me gifts from Da Shop all the time, almost everyday. We were friendly toward each other too, but when he got to the point where he was telling me who I could and couldn't talk to in "his threads", I started losing a lot of respect for him.

I'd love to see the pics of that get together. I've known all you guys for years but I don't recall any photos even though I know there were some posted. Do we still have a photo archive forum setup?

I never post mine since they can usually be seen at your local post office anyway.

It would be nice to have DB back if he'd only stop challenging stuff the way he usually did. Any legit debate usually turned into a pissing match when you didn't share his point of view. It was usually different we him and me but then there were many things I just wasn't gonna debate with him either.

I gave up getting into no win disagreements the day of my divorce.
