The Ten Greatest Games in the History of the Bears/Packers Rivalry

    10 best Bears-Packers games - PhotoGallery - Chicago Sun-Times

Here is a list of the ten greatest games in the history of the Bears/Packers rivalry. Unfortunately, most of the games on this list were won by the Packers, but the good news is that the Bears lead the all-time series against Green Bay still. (I don't know how much longer we'll be able to say that, though.)

I think we at least win the game at Soldier Field. We will know a lot about what the game will be like when the season opener against the Colts is over. I don't expect the Packers defense to be that much better than it was last year when you consider that majority of the players on defense and the defense's depth chart are going to be rookies, and I'm not that confident that Nick Perry is going to be that great of a five-technique LOLB to start out. The Packers are going to have to run the ball some, and we stuff the run as well as anyone in the league, and have for years. I'll be interested to see how the pass rush goes against the Packers when we have our first round pick out there (McClellin) book-ending with Peppers and a good, solid three-technique in Henry Melton and a nose tackle in Paea to rush the pass. If we get pressure on Aaron Rodgers, we could win up at Lambeau Field.

Oh god please let us beat those fuckers. I'm sick of all those Cheeseheads in Denmark.. 90% of them being bandwaggons, I would imagine, those I have spoken with the last days from my school didn't even knew their first pick in the draft.. Herp derp. Makes me vomit..
Anyway sadly I'm to young to remember any of these games. :/
Please let us go all the way this season!

    Good post dags.

Fortunately, we still dominate as of now.

Chicago currently leads the all-time series, 92–86–6.

Leave it to the F'n SunTimes to publish an article where 8 out of 10 were won by the Packers. Where's the game in the early 80's when the Bears humiliated them 61-7? Typical work by that tabloid rag.

Then there's that 1989 "asterisk" game. Majkowski was over the line and the replay clearly showed that yet they gave them the game. You will never beat the Packers and the officials in a close game at Lambeau Field. We definitely got hosed on that one.

There was another game in the 70's where Payton gained over 200 yards rushing and basically beat them all by himself. Why didn't that game make the list? Who wrote this, Lee Remmel, the former Packer PR guy?

You its incredibly how Majkowski started this downward spiral in the abyss against the Packers. I cringe sometimes thinking about just how badly we've been dominated by the Pack over the past 20 years. Even though we've done a little bit better against Rodgers.

Things are gonna change. I feel a south wind blowing brother. We've played the Packers pretty tight even with half and offense so what will they do to counter us now? If we can control the ball better and keep Rodgers off the field we can best them more than they'll beat us. We've also got a much better pass rush to bring now than we've had for a few years. The Giants beat them that way and so can we.

I agree Soul. One of the reasons I've continued to be a fan of the Tampa 2 is that the Bears have been able to slow Rodgers down with that defensive scheme. Our big problem has been fielding an offense that is consistent and capable of putting it in the endzone like they have. And I believe we've finally turned the page in this area. The Bears have also done a wonderful job of adding youth to our defense over the past 2 years. If these new offensive pieces, that we've added this year, perform on game day like we think they will...we're going to be in a real good position where we can restock our other defensive positions with the next 2 drafts. This is probably the most exciting of all of these Lovie teams. There's just so much potential for this team to be a juggernaut on offense.

They tend to beat us each game with the one or two big plays that a Cover-2 is designed to stop. Two things hurt us defensively that they always take advantage. One, we can't contain Rodgers and we let him make plays with his feet. Solution, hopefull McClellin not allowing him that option of rolling out or bailing out to he right and better pressure up the middle by Melton and Paea. And two, better play from our Safeties. He's taken advantage of our weaknesses there for years. Our guys tackled well but were poor in coverage. Now let's see how it goes.
