In just 2009 in 13 games, he had 750 yards. He has potential, but he's gotta be used correctly.

And that's the key Zel. He's not horrible but he surely hasn't been use as effectively as he could have been. Look at what the Vikes are getting out of Harvin because they are using his strengths against opponents. Hester is and always should have been a "specialty" type receiver and the experiment to make him a #1 should never have happened to begin with, thank you Jerry Angelo.
Give him the right platform to work from and he can help you and hurt the other guy in so many different ways. I think they have a handle on what to do with him now and I think we'll see a difference in his production as a result.

I hate to keep beating a "dead Italian" but how much of that was due to Angelo putting in his two cents worth and influencing those decisions. So far to me it seems like a big wind has come in and blown away all the smoke and stink from those years and the sun is shining again.

I blame Jerry Angelo for the current bout of gas through which I am suffering. If it hadn't been for him, I wouldn't feel so fucking bloated and like a ticking-time bomb/stink bomb getting ready to be set off.
All kidding aside, Angelo did affect a lot of the personnel decisions that Lovie Smith wanted to make, and because Lovie is the head coach, it made him look like shit that all of this that came to pass happened since it occurred on his watch. It seems to me that Emery knows where to pick his battles. He sticks to his specialties of scouting players and then making the best draft-day decisions based upon those scouting reports; Angelo often went against scouting reports because of his arrogance. Emery also has done something quite novel in the approach of previous Bears' general managers: he is letting the coaches coach, which was something that Angelo not only tried to do up in the front office at Halas Hall, but would go out of his way to BLAME the coaching staff for the team's lack of performance on the field as as result of his bad personnel and "puppeteering" moves.
