    Although Chicago Bears fans are drooling at the thought of watching Jay Cutler throw to former Denver Broncos teammate Brandon Marshall, the team's newly acquired Pro Bowl receiver says he's expecting even bigger things from incumbent Devin Hester.

    "I've never been around a receiver, never seen a receiver who runs routes like Devin Hester does outside," Marshall told "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on WMVP-AM 1000 on Monday. "Listen to me ... He has all the skills to be a great, a Pro Bowl receiver. Not a punt returner -- we all know what he can do there -- but a Pro Bowl receiver. (Huh? Say that again I think I may have misheard you.)

    "Honestly, I think he's going to have a bigger year than me this year. I just don't think he's been in an environment, a situation offensively that catered to him as a player. I think with (new quarterbacks coach) Jeremy Bates and Jay growing and maturing, I think they'll be able to put him in a better position this year to where he can probably do damage. I'm excited about everyone else, but the person I'm more excited to see is Devin." (If Devin Hester outproduces you Brandon then we got shafted in that trade)

    Marshall also addressed the ongoing investigation into a March incident at a New York nightclub, saying he has not yet been cleared of an accusation that he punched a woman in the face but that he was confident the matter would be resolved in his favor.

    "You definitely have to let the judicial system take its course, but again this also is one of those things as a result of everything I've been through in the past," Marshall said of his checkered off-the-field history. "When you go through things that I've been through, it makes you a bigger target. Not only am I an NFL player, I'm an NFL player that has had trouble in the past. Whenever I step out, the target on my back is pretty much bigger than 90 percent, 95 percent of the guys in the league because of who I am and what I've been through.

    "So the situation in New York, it's unfortunate. You never want to see anyone get hurt, but just the allegation of me balling my fist up and hitting that woman is just a lie. ... When the judicial system takes its course, I'm very confident I will be cleared of any wrongdoing." (We certainly hope so)

    Nice of him to toss some props Devin's way but unless he's talking about Hester having 1200 yards to his 1100 when he says he may have a bigger year then we're in serious trouble. Now if what he means is Hester will outscore him well then I'm all for that. It's about time we got more offensive mileage out of him that way.

    Let's hope he's right. Let's hope Devin, w/the help of Marshal becomes a serious WR threat b/c we could use him as a weapon w/out question.

    Marshall sure knows how to lay it on thick. I can see why he's been well liked by teammates wherever he's played. I do hope Hester is genuinely going to be used different than in times and as a result explodes on the scene. But we've been down this road before so I'll take a wait and see on this one.

    I smell bullshit. Marshall is just trying to ingratiate himself to the Bears right now. If he gets in trouble over the incident in New York, none of these high expectations are going to matter.

    Well just imagine if we have tree WR with over 1.000 yards.. how crazy would that be.
    But yea if Hester out produce Marshall, then we got pretty butt fucked in that trade... But I really doubt it.
    But we have imo a really good WR crew compared to last year.. mm did we even have a WR crew last year? ...

    a tree WR w/1 yard would be more likely to happen in middle earth, but man talk about a go up and get it guy....even if they cannot move well.

    Marshall is either trying to be gracious by what he's saying, or something else is up with that. He can't possibly mean that Devin Hester is a potential 1,000 receiver player.

    Lol well if were figuring we will only really use him deep and if he averages 50 yards a reception he only needs a catch or 2 a game to get there!!
