Rachal? as starter? God help us
Webb - CWill - Garza - Spencer - Carimi
will be our starting lineup with EWill as LT/LG, Louis as RG/RT and Rachal for whatever guard position we may need him

Good points. I believe there is going to be decent improvement on the line. With the good players don't stop getting better I would say there are 31 other teams doing that as well on their defensive line. The improvement will be relative to the development of rivals and all things equally relative there will be some improvement on the O line. An improving Suh and Fairley is greater than improvement by Spencer and Ewill per-se.
And as we will see improvement we will also see a relative need for additional talent and grow younger in some spots.

Anyone else still want Marcus McNeill? Had injury problems but is a beast when healthy plus I still think we need another tackle to back our corps.

EWill is in no way shape or form a LT -- he's a C/G, period. Just because a guy plays on the left interior doesn't mean he can hang at LT. He would get destroyed. As it is right now, we simply are without a true swing tackle or LT backup. If Webb fails or goes down, they will be shuffling CWill or Gabe there. Those two aren't exactly awful backup alternatives, but I worry about throwing the chemistry with their moves. Levi Horn was puzzlingly moved to OG immediately and James Brown would have to set the world on fire to make this squad.
As for whoever brought up Rachal ... It's hard to say. On one hand, I take his veteran experience and tools, on the other, he appears to be an uncoachable dumbass. Ricky Henry could surprise in camp for a backup role since we promoted him just to protect us against the Saints poaching him. I don't know about where he fits in with two very solid backups in Louis/Spencer and EWill, and it is especially hard considering his lack of versatility and our need for an OT. Chris moving back to LT could very well solve that issue, since Webb could be our swing tackle and we have some quality backup depth inside. I don't expect that since Tice and Co. appear set and confident in riding Webb with a new game plan, but it makes sense from a stability standpoint.
I was thinking Louis would start at RG. Wasn't that Tice's whole thing on having athletic pulling guards?

I don't really know much about him lb. Garza did a pretty nice job stepping in on short notice last year and by extending him with a $2.6 mil SB I think you gotta figure they remain committed to him at OC. Spencer on the other hand has a pretty loft cap hit this year so he may be a target especially if the plan is to start Louis at RG. If that's the case you really don't want a guy with a $3.75 mil cap hit playing backup even if he can cover two positions.
Unless Spencer can beat Louis out for his job I'd look more for us to use one of the other less expensive and younger guys on the roster as a backup rather than adding another 29 year old $2 mil guy as just a backup. Now, if they plan to move CWill to LT and Louis to LG or if they plan to bring in another vet to compete at LG well maybe, but I wouldn't count on it. We've got Rachal for that purpose and all he's costing us is $700k.
Bottom line is that unless they believe he can take someone else's spot away from them they won't spend $2 mil for a backup OG and I can't say that I blame them.
