The Why I Hate The packers Thread
Since we are slow, let's see how long of a list we can make. Why do you hate the packers?

For starters, they have the worst uniform in the league. The thing is hideous.

Before a typically hard-fought contest against the Green Bay Packers in November, Packers defensive lineman Charles Martin proudly displayed a handtowel in warmups with the numbers of Bears stars listed on it, and claimed it was a "hit list" for the game. Martin was allowed to wear the towel in the game, and after a McMahon interception he sauntered over to the quarterback from behind, grabbed him and body slammed him into the rock-hard artificial turf. Pandemonium ensued as the play was one of the most blatantly illegal in NFL history. Bears players attended to the stunned and injured McMahon as fights broke out and Martin was ejected. The crowd and the Bears players and staff were incensed. McMahon suffered a separated shoulder which ended his season. The enraged Bears defense showed no mercy on the ensuing drive, as the Packers suffered losses on three consecutive plays, then sustained a blocked punt resulting in a Bears touchdown. The Bears went on to win the game."

Wow glad to see no one forgot that. I was young in those days when the Martin incident happened and when I saw the clip on a nightly sports cast, that's the first time I hated the Packers. They messed up that season with that blow to McMahon. Probably the dirtiest hit in NFL history because the play was way over and the intent was to injure McMahon.

I saw the thug, and that what he was (he's dead now, nice karma huh?) a thug, in a bar in Green Bay when I was back for a visit. Dude was ugly, butt ugly, and had no neck. He was comin' down an aisle and he thought I'd move over so he could get by without having to squeeze. I just turned my back on the asshole and let him turn sideways to get through. Man I hated him for that play.
I don't think he was very popular around town either. He got a drink and just stood over by a wall all night. Nobody even bothered to go over to talk to him which is rare in that town when a player is our in public. Even the Packer fans thought it was the worst cheap shot they'd ever seen.
Why do I hate the Packers? I don't. But I have every reason in the world not to be a Packer fan the major one being that I'm a Bears fan and you can't be both. I have two daughters who are huge Packer fans and even they can't sway me. I was born a Bears fan and I'll die on too. Just not too soon is all!

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
