Did you get excited in 1985? lol

The pieces are there and that's what makes this preseason a little different than some that have come before. We used to debate who on the roster out of Knox, Bennett and Hester should be the #1 WR when the real answer should have been none of them. We'd read an interview with Jerry Angelo where he would extol the virtues of the players we had and Lovie telling "we like our receivers".
We'd look for improvements in the tiniest things even to the point of harboring some blind hope that Martz would actually get that lazy ass dog RWill to catch 70-80 passes so we could point and say "all he needed was to be in the right situation". So in a sense JJ is right. We've been here before and it probably pays to contain our enthusiasm just a little because our passing game falls victim to "Murphy's Law" more often than others.
But damn it sure feels good not to going into this preseason knowing that either Johnny Knox, Devin Hester or f'n Roy Williams is likely to be Jay Cutler's main target. So.................whoopee!
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

We're gonna make whoopie with the pass in '12!

As a matter of fact I did. And I hope I have the same feeling come Feb 3, 2013. Feb 2, 2014 as well as Feb 1, 2015

I've been watching Bears for football for a very long time now. I've never seen a Bears offense not just stacked with this kind of weaponry but also a QB that has a rocket for an arm. There is absoluetly good reason for every Bears' fan to get excited this early because we have not seen an offense like this in CHI since I don't know when. They have finally put it all together on offense. This is the real deal.

Yes, this offense has more weapons than any I can ever remember. I'm trying to stay grounded and not look at it with my Bears glasses on. An offense needs a good OL to be able to put their weapons to use.
I honestly think the OL will be good enough with the change in scheme and Cutlers ability to scramble (but I still won't stop giving them crap until I see management actually try to make them dominant), but I am worried about consistency and Cutler being knocked out. It only takes one hit, and I think the line is still such that he is going to get hit more than once.
We do have some really good QB insurance this year though. I honestly don't see many weaknesses other than the OL, which may still be decent.
The D is actually weaker than I think the O will be this year. I never thought I would see that.

This offense is truly stacked like a woman who is built like a bricked shit house. You just want to paw on it, stroke, love it, and watch it do naughty things to someone. You know, like good pornography.
It's hard to believe that the offense could possibly be better than the defense, but it may well be. Our secondary is not the greatest in the world, but a good pass rush out of what could potentially be one of the very best defensive lines in the league will help.
