It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The Bear's have some chance of keeping McCown as the "at home" backup QB since he was out of football last year, is now a year older and might only be released (if he *is* released) with the late cuts (no time to learn another system). And even if signed by another team to a one year contract he still might be available to the Bears as the 2013 backup (as, of course, it is possible Campbell will be).
I hope once of the Enderle/Blanchard pair looks so good that they force the release of McCown. E/B would be cheap and Bears for 3/4 years (at the Bears option) and might constitute some real value. If not, both are PS eligible and that would allow McCown to stay on the roster and, we hope, develop as a good option for the 2013+ back-up role. The Bears QB situation is very solid. ... oh for all those lost years wandering in the bad-QB wilderness.
