2 tweets, one of which he retracted is still hardly "noise" and Marshall's antics to get out of Denver were hardly back in the good ol' days. He was acting out in practices and openly talking about wanting traded. THAT is loud. Stating you will not play for a team is loud, which has happened. Going to the media w/specifics of the deal is loud and why it doesn't work is loud.
Stating that you're pissed your team has again gone ahead and signed yet another RB behind you to a long term deal before taking care of you is not loud. Saying you're not going to be around much if you don't get a long term deal is not loud, it's not quite, but loud compared to normal cantacorous negotiations is normally far worse then what the Bears/Forte have been. And let's not forget that the Bears have come out also and talked about the deal; but they were also not "loud" about it.
But that is just difference of opinion.
Ricster its not the QUANTITY of the words that elevates a situation to "noise" level its the content. Forte has used very strong words about this situation and his anticipated future in CHI. He's been very direct about feeling he's been done wrong. I don't believe a player has to repeatedly state the same statement over and over again for it to reach "noise" level. Taking a swipe at management through any form of public media is a "loud noise."

All things considered it's been pretty dignified on both sides especially when you compare it with CJ's holdout last years where Bud Adams started shooting his mouth off about how he wasn't gonna pay him and then turned around and did anyway.
We still don't know the numbers and I'd say that's pretty good cover on both sides. Sportswriters have taken some wild guess and I'm sure Hub Arkush will tell us that his inside informants have given him the correct dope but he's just chosen not to spill the beans so far.
There have been a few flurries of publicity but not all that much considering how high a profile player he is.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

FWIW Forte and Jones-Drew share the same agent. I think I'm beginning to get an idea of where the problem is coming from.
Jones-Drew skips OTAs, wants contract extension
By MARK LONG | The Associated Press – 13 hours ago
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) Maurice Jones-Drew was a no-show again.
The Jacksonville Jaguars running back skipped the first day of organized team activities Tuesday, and coach Mike Mularkey said the three-time Pro Bowler wants a contract extension.
''He's talked about trying to get an extension for his contract, which I think everybody's aware of,'' Mularkey said. ''I'm on the coaching end of those matters. I talk to him about football and what I can do for him on the field and in the locker room.''
Jones-Drew is scheduled to make $4.45 million this season, considerably less than other top tailbacks like Chris Johnson, Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch.
Since the workouts are voluntary and Jones-Drew has stayed away before, it's not a huge concern. But the Jaguars would like to have their best offensive player in attendance to get acquainted with a new coaching staff and new playbook.
''It's all voluntary,'' Mularkey said. ''I wish he was here. He knows we wish he was here. His teammates have talked to him about it. It's a personal decision. There's nothing I can do about it. I think if I spend a lot of energy on worrying about that, it's not going to go in a good direction for the guys that are here. And I want to show them that positive energy that I have and I don't want to let anything be a distraction from the guys that are here. He'll catch up when he comes back in.''
Jones-Drew hasn't worked out in Jacksonville the last three years. He missed OTAs in 2010 to train on the West Coast, and the NFL lockout canceled offseason training sessions last year.
Nonetheless, it hasn't slowed him down. Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing last season, gaining 1,606 yards for the league's worst offense and making his third consecutive Pro Bowl. He has two years remaining on a five-year deal worth $31 million that he signed in 2009.
Jones-Drew is entering his seventh season. He has 6,854 yards rushing, 2,473 yards receiving and 74 total touchdowns. He carried a career-high 343 times last season, averaging 4.7 yards even though defenses knew he was the focal point of Jacksonville's offense.
It makes sense that he would want a new deal after a career year. Plus, he's considered underpaid compared to some of the league's other top backs. Johnson is getting $13.5 million annually. Foster is making $8.7 million a year. And Lynch is earning $7.75 annually. St. Louis' Steven Jackson, Carolina's DeAngelo Williams and Minnesota's Adrian Peterson also make more than Jones-Drew.
Jones-Drew wasn't the only player absent Tuesday.
Kicker Josh Scobee is skipping workouts while awaiting a new contract. The Jaguars placed the franchise tag on Scobee in March, but he has declined to sign the one-year tender worth $2.88 million.
Scobee and the team want to work out a long-term deal, but the sides have made little progress. Mularkey, meanwhile, refuses to let the absences bother him. He said those things took their toll on him during his two years in Buffalo.
''I let little things that I had no control over suck the energy out of me, and, really, at this job, you've got to have a high energy tank,'' Mularkey said. ''I'm not going to let that happen this time around. There's just things you learn that you have complete control over and some you don't. No matter how you worry about it, how you handle it, there's nothing you can do about it.
''Again, these guys got to see you up there with good energy, positive energy and nothing distracting me from that.''

Well, this is all stating to make sense to me now, soul. While Forte is not going to be given the kind of money that is due to Jones-Drew, he's still worthy of top five money, probably coming up there rear at #5 on that list. While I'm all for bleeding your team of every last penny you can get since careers are shortened by the way the game is played, sometimes common sense has to play a role in how you negotiate the terms to your contract, and I think that Forte would be best suited by just getting in line and signing his FT contract while he is negotiating his long term deal. Surely the two sides are not all that far apart to where a compromise is nearly impossible.
Don't know so much about the agent being the problem b/c he is MJD's agent, he's the problem b/c he let his player lose any and all leverage last year when he showed up to camp w/out a contract which meant that the FT was still in play this year.
Shitty agent.

Dags did you know that Packers fan are so stupid that they say: Hi Hitler insted of Heil?
I love that Spongebob reference.
I find German to be the best langauge to swear in and have always done. You know besides the German grammar and that stuff I like the langauge, perhaps it's because of Rammstein, but it just sounds cool.. Way better than Danish.
