Extremely rigorous and extremely expensive. I have a couple of clients who are ND grads with kids attending as well. It's a great school with a great rep. I'm a huge ND fan and I hope like hell Brian Kelly gets that program turned around now. I think they have the right guy running the show now.

ZifanQ say BEAR DOWN!

We went from talk about Forte to college sports.....

Here are the real #'s based on NFL.com
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...ract-extension
2012: McCoy received an $8.5 million signing bonus, which will be prorated against the cap through the 2016 season ($1.7 million per year) and the $615,000 McCoy was scheduled to earn in the final year of his rookie contract has been fully guaranteed (skill, injury and cap). McCoy's cap number has increased from $957,533 to $2,657,533.
2013: $3 million in fully guaranteed base salary, a $100,000 workout bonus and up to $150,000 in per game active roster bonuses ($9,375 per game). If McCoy is active for all 16 games, his cap number in 2013 would be $4.95 million
2014: $7.65 million in fully guaranteed base salary, a $100,000 workout bonus and up to $250,000 in per game active roster bonuses ($15,625 per game). If McCoy is active for all 16 games, his cap number in 2014 will be $9.7 million
2015: $9.75 million in base salary, of which $1 million is fully guaranteed, a $250,000 workout bonus and $250,000 in per game active roster bonuses ($15,625 per game). If McCoy is active for all 16 games, his 2015 cap number will be $11.95 million
2016: $6.9 million in base salary and a $250,000 workout bonus. McCoy's cap number is scheduled to be $8.85 million.
2017: $7.6 million in base salary and a $250,000 workout bonus. McCoy's cap number is scheduled to be $7.85 million.

OK so Spotrac info came from whatever numbers where available to them at the time. Eventually that will be corrected. I already said there may have been unreported bonuses or incentives that made up that disparity but it still come down to the very same thing.
All he is guaranteed is $19.765 mil through 2014 and $1 mil of his 2015 salary. That's it. There are workout bonuses and roster bonuses amounting to $1.6 which are not guaranteed and $23.25 mil in salaries from 2015-2017 are due after the guarantee and he may see only some or none of that money. Come 2015 when that cap number hits almost $12 mil if he collects everything he better hope he's the best RB in football or he'll be asked to renegotiate this deal and if not he'll become a cap casualty.
So McCoy gets $12.365 mil over the next two years or an average of $6.18 mil per year and $19.765 mil over the next three years or $6.59 mil per year. Can you see how backloaded this deal is Ric? If we gave Forte the first four years of this deal I'd be fine with that. I already said give him $17-$18 mil over two years and that's a better deal for him than this one but this is fine.
In it's first four years it pays $30.615 mil over four years but only $20.765 mil 68% of it is guaranteed. So if the Bears want to offer that ans Forte accepts four years like the first four of this deal then great. But come 2015 he'll either renegotiate that $9.75 base salary or he'll be gone and all he'll see it the guaranteed money anyway. That's about the same things that's gonna happen to MCoy as well.
Sorry but it's no $45 mil deal. He'll never see $45 mil from this contract.

The reason I hate Notre Dame can be simplified by an experience I had at a high school football game involving Knoxville Fulton High School and Knoxville Catholic High School (yes, the Knoxville Catholic High School that Harrison Smith attended.) I remember how pompous and arrogant the people who attended the game and were cheering for Catholic were. They made it out like God was against all teams who dared step foot on the field at their stadium. They recruited every player they wanted, and competed against schools who could only recruit within a given area. Basically, the people who were rooters for Catholic were snobs. That is the way I have always perceived Notre Dame - it's as if they are God's team or something like that, and the people who back the Fighting Irish look down on all other people because they're Notre Dame and we're not. Notre Dame is the ultimate poster child for teams across the country to put up on the wall and throw darts at.
I will say that Notre Dame is good for college football, however. Everyone who ever plays them considers them a rival, even if they don't play every single year. I know that some of Tennessee's greatest games in the past have come against Notre Dame. As a football team, they bring out the best in the teams they play, as I've established with what they do when they play Tennessee. I just wish we could play Notre Dame more often and when Tennessee is good so I could have the satisfaction of having the opportunity to beat the snot out of them.
Sorry. No offense. This is an opinion that is widely held about Notre Dame and, to a slightly lesser degree, the rest of the Midwest teams like Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State. It's almost like there's a sense of entitlement with Northern/Midwest teams because they're older. Hell, I remember back in 1997, Peyton Manning was DENIED the Heisman Trophy because the Northeastern and Midwestern media, along with ESPN, promoted Charles Woodson - A DEFENSIVE PLAYER - for the award. I will never forgive the media/ESPN for that. Even Alabama just got awarded its first Heisman three years ago, and you know there's some bullshit up when the program with the most national championships in college football history can't win the award.

Soul, I know how NFL contracts work, I know the money isn't even every year. I said for awhile, before this contract that 18-20 mil was where he should fall. The more contracts get signed closer to the 20 mil range the harder it will be fore the Bears to get less though. I don't care if it's a 3,4 or 5 year deal that gets him the cash, get it do him.
Who ever said he'd get or see 45 mil? I've said well before this that the only money that matters is guaranteed money. Said it when AP got his 100 mil; no way he sees 100mil, but he will see all that guaranteed.
