I'm really surprised he's not willing to talk about the numbers. If its a real below the market offer, he has a great opportunity to turn public opinion against the Bears' brass.

You know that's another real good point brother. The news that last falls offer was for only $13-$14 mil guaranteed sure seemed to leak out easily enough but we've heard nothing about the guarantees in this most recent offer from any reliable source. And yes that means I don't count Hub Arkush as a reliable source.
Funny how if the Bears had not raised their offer we haven't heard Forte and his agent screaming even more about the lack of respect he's being shown and how others are getting guarantees 50% greater than that. Phillips says they made him a strong offer and unlike JA, Ted Phillips doesn't play around with words or semantics. He told us all what his plans were for hiring a new GM and he did exactly what he said he would do. He got a personnel man with a plan to rebuild the team and do it on the fly.
The longer this goes on the more I think his agent is looking for them not to just get competitive with those other deals but to better them. AP and CJ's deals aside I think he's looking for Forte's deal to be the "leader of the pack" in that next tier. That does make sense as to why they still seem to be far apart.
Good pickup BBPB.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

Good post Soul, as usual. I have to believe that the Bears are in the McCoy ballpark. I mean if it was still in the $13-$14 million range, Forte's agent could have easily embarassed the Bears and flipped the script on them after McCoy's signing. I wish someone would leak the numbers though...I'm so curious now. lol

I think I'll cream in my pants on the day that Forte decides to sign the tender or there is a deal worked out between the two sides.
