    Well what it boils down to is if 50% of the players are "toking" then I'd say the enforcement is both selective and lax but that's just my opinion. I guess another question would be are they effectively in employ during the offseason?

    Once they play their last game of the previous season I don't believe they are until the beginning of the new league year in March. That's when their contracts for the next year become effective. You can't sanction them if they're not an employee.

    And I'm not talking about an arrest which would be made public. There are rules against conduct detrimental to the league that a situation such as that would fall under.

    Someone write Dan Pompei and see if he'll answer the question of what he thinks about it in one of his "Mailbag" columns.
    I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
