I love the move of Chris Williams to tackle, for 2 reasons:
1. We need experienced depth at the position.
2. Competition is a "good thing" at all positions on the team. Let Chris & J'Marcus battle it out in camp.

Im sticking to him being q mitchel 2.0 and based on his tweets and taco bell frequency he is setting himself great for getting a job there
but ifffffffff and its a big IF he becomes solid put some money on the bears to be super bowl champs. of course this is barring injuries

Yea I have a problem with all the dumb Bears fans that keep piling on Webb when he's just a young player learning to play the most difficult position on the line.

Didn't know they came in bags. The one's the Safeway near my place carries are in the frozen meat section.
I stand by what I said before. All Webb has proven so far is that he has a lot of growing up to do both on and off the field. Being ranked as the worst pass blocking OT in the NFL two years running should make one just a bit more humble I would think.
Still, I'll give him credit for sticking with it because I know that it takes three years and sometimes longer for a LT to fully develop his pass blocking skills. So this is his year three and we should see some marked improvement over the course of the year IF he wins the starting role.
It's not that I'm anti-Webb as much as I believe it's past time to stop handing him his job every year. Tice needs to move CWill to LT in the OTA's and in camp and CWill needs to fight his ass off for the spot. Whether or not he's a Bear after this year may well depend on it.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

There's little else that could help boost this team over the top than securing Jay Cutler's backside. If it's Webb, then so be it, I wish him and EVERY SINGLE BEAR the best of luck and want every last one of them to play like Pro Bowlers.

One of the hardest positions in sports period...its a very short list of DOMINANT left tackles in todays pass happy game where DEs are built to pretty much get the qb
And yes hes young i completely agree with you not that a lot of fans are dumb but dont really understand the complex o-line interworkings
Not trying to offend anyone here im not saying anyone here is dumb thats why i like this board exclusively

Most people don't understand that you have to be really sharp to excel as an olineman (even at the college level). My son was a LT and I was blown away by the complexity of the plays for linemen. Here's an article on how oline guys are top in the Wonderlic scores
INDIANAPOLIS -- They're usually the biggest guys on the field, but are offensive linemen the smartest?
If the Wonderlic test is an indicator of intelligence, the answer is yes.
Annually, offensive linemen average a higher score on the 12-minute, 50-question quiz administered at the NFL scouting combine than players at other positions do.
Longtime NFL scribe Paul Zimmerman figured out the averages per position, and offensive tackles lead the way with a median score of 26. Centers are a close second at 25.
