Hester never will be a #1 or a 1000 yard/season guy. But right now, we have the best QB/WR weapons that we've ever had. Where Hester can help THIS team is being the guy who is strategically used in a way to force killer match-ups for opposing defenses. He's just one more weapon. You don't build an entire house with a nail-gun alone (or paint sprayer, skill saw, etc etc). But that nail-gun is mighty effective and handy when needed and used properly.
In past years we've had pitiful QB's with pitiful receivers and pitiful offensive coordinators & talent provided by a pitiful GM who couldn't draft. It was like giving a drunk a pair of pliers and telling him to build a house. Ya ain't gonna get much of a home that way.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I completely agree. We have all decided that Jeffrey is going to be a great reciever and I hope we are right about it. Assuming that things play out as we hope, having a threat like Hester as a third or fourth option is incredible. Most of the time he will be unaccounted for. Lets say Jeffrey actually turns out to be a #1 WR. Not too many teams have two #1 CB, but assume that they do - no one has three of them. Not that Hest right now merits a #1 CB, but Bennett and Hester (assuming he actually steps up and cates like a real WR), someone is always going to be somewhat free.

With Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery & reliable Earl Bennett - and the speed-guy TE receiver (not to mention Forte) and Hester can shine as just one more weapon in Cutler's toolbox. When we match up against teams like the Packers & Detroit's secondary, we're going to be their worst nightmare come true.
This isn't your typical anemic Bears offense. We are loaded.

+1 This is not the first time we've heard Hester is having the best camp of all the WRs.

You beat me to it. EVERY year we hear about how Hester looks better than everyone in camp and then the season starts and he disappears. I'm really hoping that now that he's finally had the chance to develop as a WR (unlike others he had no college experience at WR), and they have a better plan for how to use him more effectively, that we finally see him as the weapon and scoring threat we always were told he could be.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

LOL, is he gonna have to die before you give up on him Henry. The term "injured QB" should be followed by a pic of Chad. You really have to wonder how good the guy might be is he'd ever stayed healthy.

Truthfully, we've had so many mediocre receivers who couldn't run routes (and some just had stone hands) that saying "Hester looks better than everyone in camp" didn't mean anything. It's like saying you're the tallest midget......it may sound good, but you're still not so tall.

I still think this will be his breakout year. But it won't be the 1000yrds #1 wr stuff the Bears tried to rope a dope us into believing he could be.

And given the size of our WR he almost was the tallest midget. Only about an inch difference between him and Knox or Bennett. I just hope this his year for the big play on Offense as well as ST.

Coould be his best year. If Tice plans on using him in a way that he hasn't used before, then we migth all be shocked at the production. We need to use his speed. Its too good of a weapon to just confine to ST.
