To suggest that the Bears have screwed over Forte is a silly characterization. They offered him an extension last season, WHICH HE TURNED DOWN. And the Bears didn't have to approach him yet about an extension since he was still under contract. And they've offered him a contract extension this year, of which he's also turned down. To use a popular phrase from Louisiana, "Matt Forte thinks himself."

And to say the BEARS didnt is silly characterization, till the numbers come out. It's a two way street till then.

Listen Corky...the Bears offered between $13 - $14 million guaranteed last year. There's no way the offer this year is any less and probably is a just a little under $20 million. We'll know soon enough though. Forte has been offered a lot of money and hasn't been screwed at all.

Listen Corky, until the #'s actually come out, and it's stated the Bears offered "x" and Forte rejected "x" and asked for "y" and the Bears rejected "y" and countered w/"z" etc etc etc until they both came to an agreement it's all speculation. And just b/c YOU think there's no way something happened doesn't make it true. So settle down w/the stupid insults b/c someone doesn't agree w/you and argue what few points are known.

First of all...relax or back away from the internet. Secondly, when the numbers do come out, I bet you are going to eat a lot of crow when you see just how fair the Bears offer was. In fact, if the offer the Bears made to Forte was so "insulting" or below market value or so unfair...the Forte camp would have already put it on blast to turn the fan base against Bears management. Third, you are a Forte apologist and even when the real numbers come out you'll be crying and whining how they "disrespected" Forte.

1) You're the one getting all amped and calling people "corkey" and talking da internet smack. Don't like it, don't start it.

2) I won't any any crow, I said mo's ago that he should get 18-20 mil in guarantees, and if he's asking for more he's nuts. I've also said I don't think they ever wanted him to sign anythign other then a sweetheart deal or FT him for 1-2 years, the recent "knees concern" would lean towards that.

3) So far both parties have remained fairly silent, about the dealings. The last offer known was the 13-14 mil guaranteed, shortly after the season ended, the Score leaked that during the season they upped it by 500K to 1 Mil and that's the last that was heard. Both are being tight lipped about the issue.

4) I'm not an "apologist" what is this name calling 101 internet message board crap? I've argued "real #'s" for mo's I've done the research on the top 10 rb's and all their #'s not just TD's and 1st down %, and not just for 1 year, and he's right up there w/the best of them. Don't like the "real #'s" sorry for you, but I don't look at just the #'s people tell me I have to look at. I understand the negotiations don't work like that. Both parties are going to bring up their points and counter the others until they get to the real $'s and length of a contract...and it sure to hell is going to be more complex then td's and first down %'s, it's going to be an algorythem of all everything.

You really need to take your own advice on chilling or stepping away from the internet. Know one here is throwing insults around but you, it's okay and allowed to disagree w/someone, but no reason to throw tatrum's b/c they don't. Agrue #'s and facts until you're blue in the face, but keep it above the fray.

I think its clear the Bears are offering just a little bit less than McCoy got. They also are the one in the driver seat here. They don't need to put out the fire in this battle because Forte is the one who will look bad in all this.

Let's see...didn't want to sign the Bears contract offer and doesn't want to sign the FT and misses training camp? Who looks bad? Forte or Bears management?
