Carimi back on the field for Bears
Offensive tackle participates in first practice since injury

While running back Matt Forte remained a no-show at organized team activities, one Chicago Bears offensive player rejoined his teammates on the practice field Tuesday.
Second-year offensive tackle Gabe Carimi, who saw his rookie season cut short following by knee issues, was back in action for the first time since offseason surgery. Carimi tweeted, ``First day Back at practice went great. Just need to keep up the hard work to get back where I want to be.''
Carimi, who suffered a subluxation of the right knee in last season's Week 2 loss to New Orleans, had arthroscopic surgery Nov. 11. He was placed on injured reserve Nov. 18 then underwent a follow-up procedure Dec. 27 to repair connective tissue around his patella and medial collateral ligament.
It remains unclear how much Carimi participated Tuesday. Wednesday's session is schuduled to be open to the media. Mansfield Wrotto had been working with the first team at right tackle with Chris Williams and J'Marcus Webb splitting reps at left tackle.
The Bears still envision Carimi, a former first-round pick, as their right tackle of the future, if he can stay healthy. Knee issues have been lingering since his college days at Wisconsin.

That is great news. I sure hope he put worked that leg out and that it wasn't some "bogus practicing." Man we need this guy back at 100%.

Good to hear and from what I remember the second surgery was done to create more stability in his knee so that hopefully he'll avoid knee problems down the road.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
