What ever happens it's gonna be one of those two starting at LT so let's hope both have improved over their previous shots at it.

I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I've heard from 2 separate friends that are 9ers fans that this guy is garbage and was responsible for 9 pressures in a game and they were beyond happy to see him gone. This was their Omiyale.
Just reporting.

I'm all for the "bucket of bolts" approach that offensive lines are built from time to time but not as an ongoing strategy. The line will improve by scheme. Louis, Spencer, Webb-works in progress. Carimi-coming off injury and like Paea might not be 100% coming off surgery. The best OG is working to shift to LT. Add in a better (but still new) playbook and it's enough variables to question how much improvement there actually will be.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.
Restore the roar!

Yeah his rep precedes him and we knew that. Maybe Tice thinks he can improve him but God knows we don't need another Olineman who can't pass block. Not much risk in him as far as the $$$ go and he should be motivated. If he can't make it with the Bears he's most likely out of football.

I'm with you Soul. Rachal is a pretty big guy (6'5 320) and if he finally figures it out with the Bears, then its a coup for us.
I have to add that I'm incredibly shocked that Spencer is starting camp as the LG. I knew that Louis was a lock for RG but I honestly thouht that Edwin Williams would start camp at LG considering they moved CWill back to tackle. To Spencer's credit, even though he is a Center, he was pretty darn in run blocking on that right side last year. Its goign to be a real interesting camp battle.

EWill is already re-signed but they need to figure out if Spencer is worth keeping for $3.5 mil in cap vs $540k for Rachal. My guess is only one will make it. If CWill doesn't move to LT then he'll be moving back to LG or at least he should and one of those guys will be a backup. Hard to believe they'd pay $3.5 mil for a backup unless Rachal proves to be totally useless and he may. This is the last year of Spencers deal anyway and I don't think they'll try to re-sign him if he does make the team.
