While I'd be sick to see him go at the end of the season, wouldn't it be epic to go out on top like that? The crowning achievement of a Hall of Fame career. Pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

He loves the game too much to do that. You heard what he said about concussions.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

LOL, does he remember what he said? jk
I highly doubt he would but you never know. His play MIGHT slid alittle this year and he says F it . Goes out on top. 2 SB's , and I'm sure he pulls an Elway ( since we are Bronco heavy now lol ).

One of the saddest things to witness is a once-great athlete (in any sport) staying around too long. Urlacher is still playing great. He could easily have some more great years. But once he does begin to slide, I hope he gets out, rather than stick around looking old, slow and wimpy.

I don't think he'll wear out his welcome. Seems to me that he's been pretty intelligent about handling his money so I think he's pretty well set. Even after he retires you know he's still gonna be getting endorsement dollars and speaker fees and maybe he even does a movie or two like Butkus did.
Man I loved Dick Butkus but he was a horrible actor. But just doing those gigs kept his name alive and still get commercial work. When he can't do what he always has I think he'd rather go out on top than on the bottom. But I think he wants that SB ring before he gives it up.
