Yeah, yeah I know. Be nice too if the KO rule was changed back too.
Arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win your still messed up.

You can never have to many good ST'rs. ecspecially if they can play a little on O or D even in a backup role. But Weems or anyone else is not taking the place of Hester. No one fears weems. No one's ST's are going to tell their whole team to look at hester regardless of where the ball is flying in the air.

Ggod post Ric. STs is a HUGE part of the game. I think some people forget how often teams punt and KO.

It's a solid 3rd of the game. and it turns the momentum and field position all to often. We've been blessed w/good FG and Punters. Now add to that the returners and guys blocking/taclking...ya we've had it good in this area.
Perfect example, I don't think we win in Arizona the year of the SB if it wasn't for Hester and the ST's play. Even the D alone couldn't have saved this team from Grossman that day

Well that was the anti-Hester rule shorty. We all know that. Player safety my ass. It didn't elminate returns it just reduced the number. There's just as much risk on the ones that are returned as there was before. If they want to eliminate it just give teams the ball on the 25 or 30 yardline and eliminate KO's altogether.

The safety was in breaking up the wedges, not in making more TB's. That was clearly an anti Hester(i'll even add Cribbs into this) rule.

You're right nobody else is that good but they have been cutting back on Hester's KO returns anyway over the last couple of years so they may cut them out altogether if one of these other guys steps up.

That was only b/c he was a full time O starter. I don't expect him out there every down so that might get turned around. If not then you're right he'll be limited to a few returns a game.

He was a high 1st round pick of the Browns in 2010 and had a great rookie year but it looks like he's become a bit more mortal after his second year.
