Chicago Bears sign OL Cory Brandon, CB Cornelius Brown
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears have signed offensive lineman Cory Brandon and cornerback Cornelius Brown. The 6-foot-7, 324-pound Brandon entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma in 2011. He appeared in all four preseason games with Tampa Bay last year before being waived. Brown first joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Texas-El Paso and got waived after that preseason. He appeared in 10 games for Indianapolis that season and got released during the preseason last year. The Bears announced the moves on Friday.
Yeah, I think Brandon may be nothing more than another big OT prospect to replace Levi Horn. Horn wasn't eligible to be put on the PS again this year and once they knew he wouldn't make the team they did the classy thing and waived him early so that he had a chance to catch on elsewhere.
Not much likelihood either of these guys will earn a spot after camp. OMC is right. Just more bodies to fill out the camp roster.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.
