    The Top Football Movies of All Time...............

    I came across this on the NFL site and thought it might make for good entertainment as we talk about dramatized football instead of of the real thing. What are some of your favorites.

    Not necessarily in this order;

    1) Radio
    2) Friday Night Lights
    3) Varsity Blues (love the jugs on that stripping teacher and the whip cream scene)
    4) The Longest Yard (both)
    5) Remember the Titans
    6) All the Right Moves (Tom Cruise blah but Lea Thompson's hooters saved it)

    And last but not least I would argue to the death of me that Semi Tough was a better football movie than Brian's Song. How dare they?
    I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

    Well I mentioned that Brian's Song should be #1 but it wasn't. Semi Tough was which although somewhat non-fictional wasn't in the same class as Brian's Song. I don't think too many Bears who know that entire story would argue that it should be #1.

    Ever since I've learned that the actual story of Rudy is a but different than the dramatized version of it I guess I've liked it less. Sometimes is just doesn't pay to know too much when the myths are more to your liking. As hero's go Rudy couldn't hold a candle to Brian Piccolo.

    The true story of Rudy does not paint him in a good light, but thats not what the movie was about. The movie it self was still a great one

    I liked the movie well enough but it was much easier to make the story better by taking certain liberties that Hollywood is famous for. For instance, the varsity players never showed up in Devine's office turning in their uni's as a protest against Rudy not playing. That was pure fiction.
