I don't know. I am trying to stay grounded while being excited about the changes. I think that even with all the new weapons we have (and NEVER expected the WR situation to go from where it was to its present potential) that much of our success will be determined by the play of our lines. It has been demonstrated how important Cutlers health is to our organization. At the same time, with Rogers being able to do mostly what he wants, the DL is quite important. So IMO, the OL and DL may not be the sole determinants of the season, but they will play a big part. I also happen to think that they are possibly our weakest links. I actually have more expectations for the OL than the DL. We have some good people coming back and we are using a new scheme. The line showed flashes of being effective when not using 7 step drops. The OL may be fine in the end. I would never really categorize our DL play as being anything that would scare anyone. Peppers is pretty much it. I am not convinced that Shea will be the big difference we need. I am not saying he won't be, but no news even close to that has come out of team practices. (yeah I know, it is REALLY early and still no pads, etc but still...). If Paea and Shea both stepup, we have a different ballgame, but I actually feel better about the OL in terms of potential change than I do the DL.

What is everyone elses thoughts on this?

It looks like most of the fan base is expecting us to reclaim the NFC-N and make a serious run at a Super Bowl this year. If the team falls short, it's going to be a crushing blow to the fans.

    Are our expectations too high?

That's an incredible outlook. And you are 100% right. I feel like our franchise is set for some great years, beginning with this one.

Man, isnt' it sweet that the Bears hired Emery?

I just hope it gets better and better each and every year. It will sure be nice when we/ the BEARS win SB's, and not 25 years apart, but 3 outta evey 4 years. ( LOL ok, I'm REALLY pushing it, but hey I'm a BEARS fan and isn't that what dreams are made of? )

Ya EmDiggy that thing was cool at first, but MAN that is icky to see after I've had my morning breakfest.

BiH, I think next year is after FA and the draft is when I'll decide if I can really allow my feet off the ground early. This year is just really hard though, the O finally seems like it's coming along and really has caught up to the D. Now I wanna see it in action.

I hope Emery has got his shit wired.

The goddamn fucking OL man ... the only REAL weakness thru the angelo regime,

I hope everyone at Halas Hall knows what they are doing,

by not addressing the key need.
