Forte not thrilled about Cutler discussing his contract

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-his-contract/

“It kind of looks bad when other people speak for you,” Forte told the Chicago Sun Times. “[Cutler] doesn’t really know what’s going to happen. He’s not in the negotiations. He’s just being optimistic. He wants me there.”

Hey Forte, you selfish prick, Cutler wasn't speaking FOR YOU. He's the QB of this team and the soon to be face of this franchise.

    Here's what Cutler actually said:

“I would be shocked if he doesn’t sign his tender by July 15, or whenever it is, and he shows up. It would really be a surprise to me,” Cutler said

While Cutler is out there digesting the playbook and taking reps with his teammates PREPARING FOR 2012, you're pouting and suggesting you will miss trianing camp but show up just in time for the regular season. Oh how gracious of you Forte. Know your role you little punk. Cutler's arm is more important than your two little legs.

And yes Cutler does know what is going to happen. You're going to sign your 1yr FT by July 16 or you are going to run the risk of pissing off a lot of Bears fans.

QB always > RB. QB also is expected to show leadership for the team in general and sometimes that involves letting some guys know that they have to report. This isn't Jay Cutler '09 I just got here. This Cutler '12 and we have a SB contending team together and its time to put the business squabble crap aside for the good of the team. Forte better remember who plays QB and who is going to be playing here long after him.

Cutler has vastly matured over the past few seasons. Although, he is quick with the Jersey Salute.

I still believe this is not a big deal. Forte will play this year. He's a Chicago Bear who has been a class act since he's been here. Contract negotiations are a fact of life, and players have always gone through these things & life goes on. I understand that fans are frustrated (me too) but just let this play out and we'll be fine as a team - and we'll have a great season out of Forte.

I can never fault a man for looking out for his livelihood, family and loved ones. We don't like to think about it this way, because we are all about our sports team. But family trumps team in my book. Cutler understands this. So do all the Bears who have wrangled over contract issues over their career. It's reality.

Be patient. Forte will sign. Life will go on.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

JABF99, exactly. And the thing is things are pointing way up compared to even a week ago. Contract negotations can get testy, but no reason for the fans to get to emotionally involved. For them it's a love and a past time. For the team and the Player it's love, but it's also business and livelihood and that's how they treat it.

Exactly. And as fans, let's try to support our own players, unless they are truly doing something to earn our wrath (guys like Bonehead Cedric Benson or Tank Johnson etc). Forte is a Chicago Bear who has been a role model here in Chicago. His only crime has been to be a Pro Bowl RB trying to paid like one. He'll play for the Chicago Bears. We will be a better team as a result of having him in a Bears uniform this season.

But I can definitely relate to those who are antsy to get him back ASAP. I feel the same way. But let's not trash our own players. This is America, not a slave state. People have the right to negotiate a contract with an employer. It isn't communism here. It's a free nation.

I think that's the biggest thing. And a lot of that anxt came from this un subsantiatied claim he was asking for AP/CJ money. That is clearly no longer the case. He's wanting that 5-10 RB pay which he clearly is. And at the end of the day it's looking more and more like both sides are going to come to an agreement. No reason not to be happy about that.

Also remember he hasn't, regardless of threats, missed anything mandatory or important. Even Tice said during the OTA's that they weren't implementing any of the run game b/c of their inability to have physical contact. All these reports over the past few days should be releiving the fans, not getting them all lathered up.
