I'm hoping we keep a balance in our offense, at least enough that we keep teams off-balance. It doesn't have to be 50-50 balance, but enough that teams have to fear BOTH our passing AND our running. I think they'll do this. We have the weapons to beat up teams with both the run and passing. If so, then we'll be a tough team to game plan against.
    Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I think we'll be better because Tice was here for all of Martz' mistakes and already has a good report with Lovie, whose job is on the line this year. I see it as having exhausted the idea of this being a pass first second and third team to the point where common sense would dictate that they know what this offense's limitations are and aren't as egotistical as Martz to avoid in-game and week-to-week changes.

    Henry/JABF99 I think you're both right.

You look at what Tice was doing in Minnisota, w/a great QB/WR tandem and no real RB of note and he was trying to keep it near 50-50(w/an advantage to the pass) I think you'll see that here to considering the huge upgrade at RB in Forte and Bush. Also He would be hard pressed to LOWER the Rush attempts when the Bears are already fairly low at that anyways.

Tice knows this OL cannot support 7 step drops and sitting in the pocket every play. He'll know to use 3-5 step drops and roll outs to help. He'll also use those rb's as outlets too. D's aren't going to just gun for a spot where the qb should be like they could under Martz.

If we play great against them, Cutler's breaking his own franchise records this season...
Our schedule is pretty easy thanks to a third place divisional finish and facing the weak AFC South, but I would put in a word for two of our opponents in Houston and San Francisco. Those are two pretty stubborn defenses.

Beatable yes, but tough games. I'll be happy to take a split there and a split vs. Green Bay.

And Det's not going to be a stepping stool either, there's another 2 games. That D is built to tear up really good OL's, and our's is at best very average.

That's not how it works. Any given year, the NFC north will play all four teams in a given AFC and NFC division. Each team will also play the teams from the other two NFC division which finished in the same position as them the previous season. The NFC north is playing the AFC South and NFC West this year. Since the Bears finished in 3rd last season, they will play the 3rd place teams from the NFC East (Dallas) and the 3rd place team from the south (Carolina).

Anyway, if the Bears and Eagles finish in the same position every season, they will play every season. That's why we got the yearly media orgasm over the Patriots/Colts matchup for the past ten or so seasons.
