You make another good point regarding Fred Miller. We did get some decent play out of him. We've certainly had worse olinemen.
I agree with you guys on Pace and Miller, but as far as Pace, I was only counting his time as a Bear. And that was Pathetic with a capital P. I was as glad we got him and then as disappointed as you guys. And Miller did start out okay, but he turned into a turnstyle. I'm sure there were worse, but I'm just going on my memories here, and my memory is fading. Of course, the mental block I have on the Wanny/Jarhead years doesn't help either.

I was going to throw some coaches in too but got so disgusted with the players I couldn't stomach it anymore. Abe Gibron certainly ranks at the top of that list. Pardee and Dooley were really bad too. Shea/Schoop as mentioned were horrbile, and Turner had his ups and downs, Martz of course. So who was the last decent OC we had - Ed Hughes back in the mid 80's????

LOL at the lists. Yeah we had a lot of busts over the years. Maybe the OP should have called it the "Chicago Bears Toilet-Bowl Team".

All good points JABF99. What I remember from that offseason was that once the Rams released Pace, no one wanted to touch Pace. The guy hadn't fully recovered from the torn labrum he suffered in his shoulder in '07 and was having recurring back problems. I mean his ship had sailed. When healthy, you'd be hard pressed to find a better LT in the game. The game was a HOF play in his earlier years.

I'll tell you Peppers, Urlacher and Briggs have been fortunate with the injuries they've had in their careers. All 3 seem to still have plenty left in the tank. All 3 are just tough dudes.

They are tough guys. Peppers especially seems to play hurt as well as anyone. Some games you could tell he was really hurting, but he just shakes it off and plays through the pain. And you're right, Urlacher and Briggs are tough too.

In all fairness, a QB like Quinn can turn any team into a toilet bowl champion. He didn't need a bad LT to make himself look bad. He could have all the time in the world and still make a stupid play. And a bad reciever wouldn't make a difference anyway since the destination of the ball was only rarely in the correct zip code anyway.

Nothing (well nothing good) ever happened when he was under center. The good thing was he could play injured with the best of them. Playing injured had no effect on him as he played badly either way.

.... players that make you want to slam your head into your television set ; they're embarrassing your uniform so much.
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?
