    Thougts on Jefferys impact?

Ive been excited about this guy since i was thrilled to watch the bears draft him.

I think he will abuse smaller or mismstched CBs with marsh eating up most of the coverage

What do you guys think? Am i too optomistic?

I'm excited about him too. There will probably be a learning curve for him to climb this first season. I don't expect him to be Brandon Marshall-II and running polished routes, or even being a starter early in the season. I could be wrong.

I do think he'll quickly improve as the season progresses. Ultimately he looks like he will be a GREAT receiver for us. I just don't expect great things from him day-1 of this season.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I hope and think he can have a positive impact in his rookie season. I feel like we got a steal in that guy, and I hope the Bears can get control over his weight issues, looking at those arms oh boy..

I would just be thrilled if he could just beat up on lax single coverage if he gets "forgotten" about

Also im hoping for a good red zone threat

Rookie WR's don't tend to make a huge imact. I would guess 60-70 rec's, and 500-700 yards and 5-6 td's(for high profile rookies 1st rounders etc). If he does anything more then that, be very happy.

I'll be happy to just see him in shape and be better at the end of the season then at the begining.

I believe he's going to be better than your avg. rookie wr and his effectiveness will be multiplied with Marshall, Bennett, Hester and using the TE again. As Lovie does he might not see much action early but as the season wears on he should get some good reps in. I would be sky high on him if someone other than Drake was working w/him though.

He doesn't have weight issues, despite the pre draft rumors. His weight has been consistent from his best year (sophomore) to now. edit - he did gain 31 lbs during his junior year. He is a little heavier than many WR's his height, but if you look at him he isn't at all fat. He's muscular.

His game during his sophomore year reminds me of Hakeem Nicks, and if he can have a rookie season like that, I'd be thrilled.

I don't expect much out of rookie receivers though.

BS, he does have weight issues. It's why he had problems in OTA's w/his legs. He needs to be in better shape then what he is to play in the NFL. But I think the team will get him into that shape so it shouldn't be a major concern.

    Then we disagree.

Someone 6'3" who weighs 216lbs, officially at the NFL combine weigh in, doesn't have a weight problem. Just my opinion.

He did get up to 229 in his last year at SC, granted. I don't see 13lbs as a huge issue.
