Did you guys see where the Panthers traded Jeff Otah (and his knee) to the Jets for a conditional 7th round pick?

My take on it is that J'Webb didn't face the serious competition in college due to being at a lower div school. Then he was awarded the position at LT due to injury, and kept it for similar reasons. It strikes me that he maybe a guy who just thinks that his talent alone will carry him, or (worse) that he doesn't need to practice with the guys to build that familiarity with the rest of the oline. ....

also, Ricky Henry was mentioned as showing up for these workouts, isn't he on the practice squad? if he can afford it, J'Webb shold be able to as well.

Tice was personally coaching the oline players today. Coaching his butt off. No detail was too small for him to correct. You can tell the players have a great respect for him. He's really a hard driving passionate guy out there.

Obviously, he realizes that a significant part of the season depends upon him putting together a solid oline.

His neck injury is the big issue Henry. It's one of those things where the question becomes is a he taking too big a risk to play. Even if he isn't you gotta thing the Bear would ask him to agree to an injury waiver clause in his contract like they did with Hayden. If neither Webb or CWill step up and take charge at LT bringing McNeil in could happen. Not much else out there.

I pretty much agree. I just don't think the potential (this year) is there for either of them like a healthy McNeill would be. I'd love to be wrong, tho
