Maybe we will see this team evolve to the point that WR's actually WANT to play for Chicago. In the past, if I were a WR drafted by Chicago, I'd crap myself. You'd know you were going to a team that:

    1. Didn't value offense in general.
    2. Perennially had crap QB's.
    3. Was the graveyard of the NFL for WR's.

"Moose" was an overpaid disappointment once he got here. He improve the situation buy not nearly as much as he was expected to and then he turns around and blames the team. He was treated right while he was here and there was no cause for him to do that other than the need to stroke his own ego.

The Marshall experience will be nothing like the "Moose" experience. I think Marshall is just thrilled to be out of Miami and back with Cutler again. Some may say differently and he'll always be battling his BPD but I truly believe he's a changed man. Professionally he couldn't be any better off than he is now. I hope he can play another 5 or 6 years in Chicago and keep Jay around in the process. No chance he thinks of going somewhere else as long as we give him players that can advance his career too.

It would be interesting to see what would happen with Sanz if we were to release him. He'd be free to go wherever and since NE is struggling coming to terms with Welker I would think they'd be very interested in a guy like Sanz and probably vice versa. I don't like the idea of letting Sanz go and then maybe having to face him in a SB playing for NE. They need to find a way to keep him around and see how he develops. If Bennett does get injured again they can slip him right back into the slot.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

I really don't like the news hype for Devin Thomas. I mean, if Devin the dude makes it on the team, fine, but he's nothing special other than tall. Sanz just needs a REAL chance to show his stuff. In 4 receiver sets, and if he's in for someone on 3s (I know they won't happen often), he'll do a good job.

Potentially, it's one of the better wr corps. The final piece of the resurrection process is to get rid of Drake. I believe we will see tons of great athletic plays and passes completed due to system, talent, familiarity, and athleticism. However, there will be a great deal of fine tuning that can be done and Drake has never shown me even on small things that he can fine-tune much less actually develop anyone.

It is really easy to get excited about this group of WR's - believe me I know - I'm pretty pumped. But in trying to stay grounded, we really have two recievers that I consider proven, reliable threats. Marshall and Bennett.

We can say and hope all we want about Hester and Jeffrey and all the rest, but Hester has been average and Jeffrey is nothing but potential at this point.

I still personally think our passing game will be great and we will have some other breakout WR's with Marshall being out there, but regardless of what I think, we only have Marshall that has for sure upgraded our game from last year. That should be a huge boost, but most of us (myself included) are acting like we have 5 stud WR's.

    I hope we do!

But we do have proven studs! Well, if you count special teams players taking some snaps @ reciever that is...

I agree, Bennett is the only one that has performed for the Bears. I don't mean to jump into hot water here, but BH is correct: I believe in the hype along with everyone else, but it's only steam so far. Looking forward to August, when we get some idea of what the "O" is cooking up this season. I want a full on Superbowl dinner party, and if all I end up with is a hot cup of tea... Well, I, ahh, I, well damn.

The hype has given me an appitite though.

Well as my old quote used to say "Moose had it wrong, Chicago is where QB's come to die, WR's are just friendly fire.". ;p.

Luckily it seems that might also be coming to an end.

LOL Collateral damage. Well, Cutler's not dead yet. Despite Martz's and the OL's best efforts.
