    A funny training camp story.

I wanted to find a great place to watch the final scrimmage of the day. There was a baby stroller parked in the IDEAL place, right up against the ropes in a perfect spot to watch and photograph the players. So I noticed it was a family of Bears fans there with the stroller - grandpa, grandma, husband, wife, 3 year old & a real little guy in Bears jammies (he was barely crawling age).

Die hard fans to the max.

They let me sit in front of the stroller (nice folks). So, I'm spending the afternoon next to the 3 year old. A cute little guy who I thought would be bored out of his mind while the adults watched the scrimmage.

    Man, was I wrong.

This family had raised that kid right. He was INTO that game, and his football IQ was shocking! An RB fumbled and the kid was all over it - raising heck over not hanging onto the ball. Route running, blocking, everything on the field, THIS kid was on it. My jaw was dropping everytime he had a comment.

He was obviously, at 3 years of age, smarter than any of the ESPN idiots I listen to. I should have shook that Dad & Granddad's hand for "raising him right".....

Bears fans are the best, man. Just fanatical zealots about their football.

I should have asked the little guy what he thought of the oline this year. And who is going to win the LT battle. He'd know.

Gotta grandson like that who's a little more than twice his age and he's a football nut too. Unfortunately a Packer fan like his mother but the kid plays Madden Games against himself that begin with him singing the Star Spangled Banner and then announcing the game like he was in the broadcast booth as he plays it. Ya gotta love it.

99 I think it's great that you can get to these camp practices every day and be our eye in the sky and those pics are great man, keep 'em comin'. You're our hero.
I'm getting to that age where a lifetime warranty just doesn't mean as much to me anymore as an afternoon nap.

The problem is that I won't be able to go every day. My boss made me work today

But I'm hoping to get back Sunday. They don't practice Monday, so Tuesday would be my next chance to see them. After that I'll be in Chicago for a few days at a music festival called Lollapalooza. I make that annual pilgrimage just like I do Bears training camp. Soul, I'll be honest, I chuckled at your comment a few days ago about getting into trouble for having too many guitars. My son has guitars all over the house (he has a band). I'm guilty too because I've built some of them.

Anyway, when I can get to camp, I'll post some info and pics.

p.s. I'm always the only old guy at Lolla. 80,000 crazy kids & then one old white haired guy - me.

3yrs old ? Never heard anything like it . Born to be a coach sounds like to me. You shoulda got his name . I can just see it 30 yrs from now when this kid is a coaching prodigy saying things like " I knew I wanted to be a coach when I was 3 " hahahahahah
What should you call any : Fumble , Hold , Interception , Three and out , or Sack ?

    A " F.H.I.T.S " ? or a J'Marcus ?

Why that lousy bastard. What does he think he's doing running a business or something?

The set answer any guitarist should give to the question; "how many guitars do you need" is always; "one more than I have now". You can never have too many. I've got four Telecasters now and my next project will be to modify another Tele into an Esquire. There's a couple more and a Taylor acoustic/electric and I won't even get started on my project of rebuilding my bass herd. (I play both)

You and I are gonna have to talk about some of those builds. I've never done one from scratch. Just done conversions and pickup and hardware upgrades. We have an excellent luthier here in town whose done work before on my Taylor and he's just begun a lutherie workshop teaching basic lutherie skills. Every student will also build their own acoustic and as you can imagine I'm dieing to get into one of his classes and do a build of my own.

Hahaha great story! Really impressive. I wonder if he could manage to run the Bears as a GM better than J.A.
