Thoughts on our first two games. Colts & Green Bay at Lambeau

We will have a very different offense this season. That's pretty clear. I think we won't actually see much of it against the Colts. The Bears will play a plain vanilla offense, and still win that game easily.

Then they can throw some stuff at GB that they're not going to be ready for. I'm throwing this out because I can see some of us disappointed if the game against the Colts is not the fireworks display we're all expecting this year with the power-weapons on offense.

    Not in game 1.

    Trestman - Kromer - Tucker - DeCamillis

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys coach. Hope they're good.

I expect them to showcase their firepower from the get go. What good is surprising GB with plays if you aren't actually getting real time reps in a game with those plays? Practice is practice. These guys need to be getting reps from week 1. I believe they'll whip the Colts and find a way to beat the Packers. I think the Packers still aren't taking the Bears seriously. Message must be sent.

Or, maybe it's a combination of letting loose some firepower decimating the Colts, but saving a few key surprises for Green Bay. Why showcase your whole offense prior to a game as big as that GB game?

It would be different if the 1st team was going to be a tough one, or if the GB game was later in the season. But what does it hurt to hold back some surprises for 1 game?

Show all your best plays the week before so your rival can perpare for them. Like you did in school, use your best move against the weakest kid, only to have it used on you by the Big Kid on the Block.

I'm sure they have a very big play book. Its really not as easy as you think to prepare for a team with a new offense just by watching film from the previous week.

I would think that there would be a bit of pressure on the Bears - and none on the Colts - for that first game. Bears fans expectations are sky high, to the point that some people probably assume a decent Illinois high school team could beat the Colts.

Can you imagine the level of angst we'd witness if the lowly Colts actually did win?

Colts should be no problem but the Pack, in GB, four days later, on a nationally televised night game? Oooooooo, that's gonna be a toughie. If we win that game everyone is gonna know the Bears are for real but if I was a betting man I'd say we'll be 1-1 going into week three.

If we played them around the 4th or the 5th game our chances would be a whole lot better. Even then we'll still be rounding off the rough edges on offense but the blocking and the timing in the passing game will be much better. I'm not saying we can't beat them. Even in GB we play them tough and who knows what could happen. You kind of throw out the book when it comes to Packers vs Bears games. If we lose it's not a tragedy. I don't see us going undefeated and the second game may have more significance as far as the NFCN crown goes.

Playing at home in mid December with the Championship on the line and a score to settle is just fine with me.

I can't believe the way some of you let GB psyche you out. GB is also playing on 4 days rest. They only advantage they have is that they are home. Well its time for the Bears to set them straight. This team is far better and more dangerous than our 2010 and 2011 teams. C'mon its time to dominate them the way Favre dominated us. One thing about Rodgers...he hasn't dominated us. We've beat him with some weak Bears teams.

And to add to that I am betting there will be a ton of Bears fans at the game, so the Packers won't have the big home field advantage that some home teams have.

You don't think the Colts and Luck have a 'bit" of pressure?
